Guest guest
Dear DattaGuru devotees, I had an opportunity to visit Ganagapur at the beginning of this year and I had been meaning to write down and share my experience with everyone onboard and also take the opportunity to thank Subrahmanyam Bharathula garu who has always been guiding me and so many other fellow devotees and on this trip he accompanied me and showed me the holy place. We went by car,it took about six hours to reach the holy place and I had a darshan of the Lord's Paadukas as soon as we reached. The temple is so serene and you can definitely feel the presence of the Lord,I mean there is a sort of unexplained bliss/happiness that you feel as soon as you enter the temple itself,I have never felt anything like that in my whole life. After having the darshan of the Lord's Paadukas, the Nirguna(formless) Paadukas are a bliss to watch them, you can never get enough of watching and praying the Lord's Paadukas, there is a Chinthamani Ganapathi Idol too in the premises and I was guided by Subrahmanyam Garu to take a darshan of the Lord Ganapati as well.Subrahmanyam Garu showed me the Ashwattha tree in the temple, this is referenced in the holy Guru Charithra were a demon used to live on that and by surrendering to the Lord and taking a bath at the Sangam(the Bhima/Amaraja river)it got Mukthi. I was able to relate to the Ashwattha tree much better, after having read the chapter and now being visually able to see it, made it a better experience and a moment to cherish. After having tasted a sip of the nectar,I mean having a darshan of the Lord, any mortal like me wanted more and then we went to the Sangam and took a dip,the Sangam is very beautiful and you got energized and invigorated after the dip,I felt very energetic and was thankful to the Lord for having given me an opportunity to be at the Sangam,we then had the darshan of the Ashwattha tree, this is referenced in the Guru charithra were a person suffering from leprosy was asked by the Lord to plant and water a sapling of the Ashwattha tree ,you can see so many devotees doing Guru Charithra parayana here, the atmosphere here is total bliss,we had a darshan of the Lord Sangameshwara after that. We then headed off to the temple and had done a Paaduka lepan puja, here the Lord's Paadukas will be applied with Sandalwood paste and although you do not perform the puja,by watching the Lord's Paadukas you get real happiness, you feel like that's the only happiness you ever cared for the whole of your life. There is a sphatik Shiva linga that the Lord used to worship too. After that we performed the Rudraabhishek at the temple premises and then at noon, that is the special moment, per the scriptures the Lord promised that he would accept your offerings and so we took the Madhukari and also distributed prasad to everyone, being amidst the whole process is a treat in itself, believe it or not you get into a state where you can see the Lord in everyone albeit for a short amount of time atleast,I mean seeing the Lord in everyone is a goal that happens with the Lord's Grace ,but at that moment you definitely get that sort of experience. At the end of the day there is a Pallaki seva of the Utsava murthy of the Lord and all the devotees are expected to lie down and the Utsav murthy is carried by the priests over you and after that is done,I must admit I felt more relieved as if something that I have been worrying about just went on its own by the Lord's grace. Sorry for the length of the post,I know that the words I have used might not convey the bliss that I was able to feel at the holy place but I pray that all Dattaguru devotees get an opportunity to visit this place and taste the nectar. I sincerely thank Subrahmanyam Garu for taking time off and guiding us. I feel our group is blessed by the Lord as HE is guiding us diligently in so many ways and we should spread the Datta naama as much as we can in whatever way we can. -Ranjit Sree Datta Saranam Mama ______________________________\ ____ You rock.
