Dear,

I had mentioned the same story a longtime ago. The factual stance was

not Adi shankara but a guru in trialanga pradesha(now called Telangana,

AP).

The import of the story is : Do not do what the Guru DOES but what he

says.

What these aghoris do, if we try to emulate, we will end up burning

ourselves. These paths are not meant for all. Let us stick to what we

know best and even if it gets delayed, we will try to reach God.

But this does not mean we should pass judgements and berate their paths.

This is the worst sin which one can commit.(Feeling self-righteous and

berating other people's spirituality). PERIOD!

posted once or twice.Since this subject of different forms of worship

some bordering on extreme modes has come up I thought I can also share

my views on this. The apparent conflict of judging such extreme or

different modes of worship, food habits etc. arise out of the position in

which we are judging the matter.Obviously to the enlightened soul all

matter is made. up of panchaboothas viz.air, water, earth, space and

fire.We perceive the apparent while for the enlightened the sukshma of

the apparent is clear. There & nbsp;are very many stories about the

apparent transformation of matter in our puranas,Guru Charithra, etc.Even

the Annapoorna siddhi mentioned in Guru Charithra is one of them where

the limited food is made limitless by the & nbsp;Swami Sri Narasimha

Saraswati.in the akshya pathra story Once it & nbsp;was said that the Adi

Guru Adi Sankaracharya was travelling with his & nbsp;shishyas & nbsp;and on

the way a & nbsp;man was brewing liqour & nbsp;and & nbsp;Adi Shankaracharya

took a gulp of the & nbsp;liquour which prompted one shishya to say if the

Guru is having liquour why & nbsp;should we not have the same. One of the

older shishyas told hiim to be patient and wait for some time for he

shall get an answer soon.As they were proceeding they came across a

blacksmith melting & nbsp;hot iron and Adi Sankaracharya took a gulp of

the & nbsp; molten hot iron.The older & nbsp;shishya told & nbsp;the other

shishya & nbsp;If you can drink this & nbsp;meaning molten hot iron you can

drink the other one also meaning liquour. & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp;Just

like beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder spirtuality lies in the

heart of the perceiver.Spiritually yoursG.Karthikeyan.. & nbsp; & nbsp;

Dear Dhruvji,Truth remains the same whether it is accepted or not.Why do

they leave fruits, grass, trees, grains and choose the horrible? They would

like to lose their ghrina(disgust), which you have, for suchuncouth

objects. If God, exists in all and everything, then why shouldne

hypocritical about such objects and not even see them or touch them. This

is their reasoning. They do it under the guidance of a Guru toovercome

Ghrina in them. Every reseration you have, will become ahindrance to

God.When you cannot even accept what is written in a " Satwica purana "

likeVishnu purana then I do not expect you to accept what you have seen

orread remotely about Aghora. Their very nature, I repeat, is to do

thingsdetested by ordinary society, and their path to God is unique. You

call youself a " pipeelika " (ant) but don't you recognize that Godexists

" Pipeelikaadibrahma paryantham " ?This e-mail you pass your judgement on

even Lord Dattatreya and that youare not able to accept what He is

doing.(As also Lord Shiva and VishnuPurana). So, will mere Ramanath

Aghori living in the banks of Gangesstand before you? Tell

me!(Hehe)Anyways, meditate, pray and be devoted with whatever little you

know. The more you practice whatever you know, the more you will know

what topractice. Because, God sees your true intentions and your heart

& amp; soul, nothing else. Please do not feel bad, if I have spoken

anything " out-of-limits " . Maybemoving with such " uncouth aghoris " I too

have become hard in mylanguage!Paramaathmike'!!Shreeram Balijepalli---

Dear Shreeramji, & gt; & gt; I adapt what you said! But I don't understand

one thing is that whenthey've grass, fruits, trees, grains why they

leave that and choose toeat meat, dead bodies etc.!!!??? & gt; & gt; I have

read a bit of Vishnu Puran as well, I was reading through andwhere I

found same thing of present Naivaidhya of Meat toPitrus(Ancestors) I

again left that to read further. & gt; & gt; It is true people like me who

knows nothing about spiritual paths andI am like an 'Ant' to interpret

all these! I follow all paths as it is,without applying logic in it

except consuming alcohol, meat etc. & gt; & gt; I know that Lord Shiva is

known as Aghori Sadhu and his almighty weredoing these also. I also know

in 'Shree Dattatreya Vajra Kavach' it saysGuru Dattatreya is found

anywhere in any form, a children, yogis andghosts! That means Guru

Dattatreya would also have been doing this. Butwhen will I be able to

explain myself why this? May god bless on me andI get such knowledge and

do not make comments without knowing it! May bebecause I am not found by

any Guru! & gt; & gt; There are lots to know on such things but I am small

and its hard tofind time right now! So, just share whatever in

here. & gt; & gt; Hari Aum Tatsat Jai Guru Datt & gt; Dhruv & gt; & gt;

" Kappar " (Human skull shaped into a begging bowl)just like Lord Shiva or

Lord Dattatreya. & gt; What the Aghoris do is nothing when compared to the

Lord of Girinar,Lord Dattatreya Himself or what Kailasavasa Parameshwara

does. & gt; No one in the " satwic " spiritual field would even think of

doing suchthings.I personally do not do such things and have adviced

most brave path to God. Not many canunderstand its depth. There might be

a few Aghoris who are charlatansthese days but many are good, real good.

Aghoris prefer to shock thenormal comfort-zones of most humans. They do

it not to make a statementbut for a focus on God despite and inspite of

all the filth. To them asRamnath says " Both the flower and faeces are

equally good " . & gt; Ask an Aghori/Aghorini to give up his life

forDatta/Shiva/Amba...He/She will cut his/her head without even a

secondhesitation for the cause. Do we have such a bhakthi?Just ponder

oncebefore you pass further statements like " Why should we cut off

ourheads? " ,etc.(That is besides the point) & gt; If we do not like it or

not know about something, we should remainsilent, till we gain a proper

perspective. This is my opinion. One shouldnever pass judgements on how a

" sadhna " should be. & gt; It is interesting that you used the word

" Munda " . An Aghori would loveto hear that! & gt; Let me translate

literally what the sanskrit phrase you said meant. Ido not know whether

you will use it again! & gt; " Munde Munde matti binna " --- " Skull to skull

brains are varigiated! " . & gt; For an Aghori this has no

meaning(literally) as he tastes the meat ineach such human skull and

says " This is what God offers me and have notaste for anything " . & gt; If

you want to understand this sect(which is by the way very dear toLord

Dattatreya) please read the trilogy " Aghora " (Part1,2 and 3) byRobert

Svaboda. & gt; I personally would consider myself a fool if I pass such

superciliousjudgements.I can come nowhere near the worship and devotion

these Yogishave.I prefer to roll at the dust of such Aghoris. My own

life has beengranted by one such great and authentic Aghori in andhra

who spent 12years in Benaras and various

places.(Swaprakashananadaji).And I ahevmoved with such people from my

age of 4 including staying with them insmashans at such an young age and

I know what they are, atleast to someextent. & gt; Ofcourse, this has no

connection to my current path of DakshinacharaSrividya upasana. We don't

even discuss such things here. But that doesnot mean a true

Dakshinachara and a true aghori will not share the samecup of

divinity. & gt; My two cents on the issue... & gt; Yours yogically, & gt;
