Guest guest
Hi Shripad, I had been to Kuruvarpur last year. I could get information from our group files. However, for your convenience giving you the details of route. Proceed to mahaboobnagar, preferably camp in a hotel. A new hotel the best in mahaboobnagar, by name Sinduri, a pure veg hotel. Hire a local taxi or car if you are in a group, start from hotel at abt 3 am, and proceed towards Maktal ( 60 kms from Mahaboobnagar ). From Maktal ask for Valabha Kshetra or Kuruvarpur, ( 16 kms from Maktal which comes towards the left side on the main road ). By the time you reach the place it may be 6 am. Proceed towards the river bank, you find boat men ready to take you to the temple situated in an island. they charge abt Rs.20 per person. After crossing the river sport yourself with a dhothi and angavastra, and take a holy dip in the river, and with the same drenched clothes and applying tilak on yr forehead enter the temple. You will find the priest performing abhishekam. But ensure you reach the temple before 6or atleast 7 am, to participate in the abhishekam. after 7 the priest prepares for alankaras and you might miss the chance for performing abhisheka. Take all pooja samagri from Hyderabad. These articles will not be available there. The name of the Temple Priest is Sri.Vasudeva Bhatt. After poojas leave the place by 11 am and proceed back to Mahaboobnar have lunch & take rest for a while in the same hotel ( 24 hrrs check out time ). There are no proper accomodation in Kuruvarpur nor any proper hotel for food. Take flowers and bilva leaves from Hyd mozamjahi flower market, and all pooja samagri from begumbazar chatri or the best place for pooja articles is Skandagiri temple at padmaraonagar, secunderabad. Plan yr trip accordingly. Guest guest
Dear Shripad,I had been to Kurwapur thrice in the last two years. We leave Hyd by car around 4am & reach Maktal by about 6.30 am.Maktal is on the road from Mahboobnagar to Raichur. From Maktal, you have to go by JEEP/AUTO/BUS to Panchadevpahad which is 18kms from the main road on the left side (There is a Temple on the main road where you take a left turn into the village).Once we reached Panchadev pahad,we stayed at the DATTA PEETHAM of SWAMY VITHALBABAJI.We then crossed the river in those butties & reached KURWAPUR which is an island. You can also reach this island from Raichur side.If you are there by say 7.30 am you can perform Abhishekham for the LORD'S FEET by requesting the priest RAVINDRABHATT SHRIPADA BHATT POOJARI.You can request for lunch to be served by the same priest by informing him in advance on cell o 093427 11640.Alternatively,you can have lunch at the DATTA PEETHAM of VITHAL BABA by informing them in advance on TEL NOS 08503 280014/280426/9440052232.Their HYD contact no is 23043739.You can even spend the night either in Kurwapur or in the Datta peetham by requesting them to make all arrangements for food & sleep. They normally oblige. You can either return the same day or the next day.Avoid going there on THURSDAYS/WEEKENDS as there is a rush of pilgrims. dr.p.r.k.prasad Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile.
