Guest guest
Dear Datta Devotees, Jai Shri Gurudev Datt. I am a new member to your family, associated with Datta Bhakti Path for many years. I have an ashram at Devrukh near Ratnagiri in western Coastal area, in Maharashtra for the past 8 years where we all worship Lord Dattatreya and his 3rd reincarnation Shri Swami Samarth. We also are active in Chicago in USA where the 1st ever Datta Yaga was performed this year. I am sure all of you will be happy to know that Chicago devotees have decided to have Datta Yaga every year. I am sending some info which I trust will be interesting. The First Datta Yaga of this kind on American Soil Reportedly the first ever Datta Yaga lasting over 24 hours continuously on the lands of America in the history of that continent was performed on 21st and 22nd June this year at Bensenville, near Chicago in Illinois state of USA. The event started at around 11 am on 21st June and the Poornahuti was performed at around 12 noon the other day amidst the chanting of vedic mantras by vedic scholars like Mr Anantbhai Raval, Mr Rohitbhai Joshi and others. This event was initiated by Shri Ajit Guruji (from Shri Swami Samarth Math in Devrukh, India) during his recent trip to that country. About 500 participants including some native Americans participated in this divine event. 24 batches rotating at every hour continuously chanted the mantra Hari Om Tat Sat Jai Guru Datta for 4,42,000 times during this yaga. This yaga created such a harmonious and divine environment never experienced before. Devotees in and around Chicago were more than satiated with this spiritual event and they have decided to make it an annual event.
