Dear Members, Pranams! SERVICE PROGRAMME TO VEDIC LEARNERS AT SIMHACHALAM We are happy to inform you that, a service programme was organized at Varaaha Laxmi Narasimhaswamy temple of Simhachalam of Andhrapradesh on 24.08.2007. As the day is Sraavana Friday and Varalaxmi vratham, the day is very auspicious for getting the blessings of Goddess Laxmidevi. A view of the Simhachala Laxmi Narasimha kshetra with temple tower Lord Laxmi Naarasimha is indirectly connected to Lord Dattatreya. The burning sensation of nails of Lord Narasimha at the time of death of Hiranyakashipa was reduced by Goddess Laxmi with the juice of Oudumbar tree leaves. Lord Narasimha and Goddess Laxmi were given boons to this Oudumbar tree that whoever perform the pradakshina to Oudumbar tree and whoever performs the anushtan/japa under the tree of Oudumbar will get more power and their desires will be fulfilled easily. As Lord Dattatreya is a combination of Hari, Hara and Brahma, we can observe the oudumbar tree in the Datta temple premises of Lord Dattatreya.

As per the suggestion of one of our group members, our team went to Simhachalam to perform one service programme to Vedic learners and cows at this powerful kshetra by thinking that the directions were came from Lord Dattatreya. We went to the temple and performed Archana to Lord Narasimha in the Garbhaalaya and arranged “Phaladana” with dakshina to vedic learners. They recited SRISUKTA which is a famous sukta of Goddess Laxmi and also recited Veda aashirvachana. A VIEW OF THE VEDIC SCHOOL RUNNING AT SIMHACHALAM The above photograph is connected to veda recitation by the vedic learners We enquired about the organization who are taking care of cows at Simhachalam to assist them as a part of Go samrakshana. But there are no such trustees in that place. Finally, we purchased some fruits and feeded the cows which are on the roads with banana fruits. One can clearly observe from the following photograph that how the cows are taking fruits from the hands of our team members. How the cows are taking the fruits from the hands of devotees at Simhachalam with empty stomach It is very sad to tell that, they are eating the grass which is available on the side roads of Simhachalam and eagerly waiting for the persons who will feed them with fruits etc., We felt very happy to perform this activity with the blessings of Lord Dattatreya as a part of GO SAMRAKSHANA. We instructed the devotees of Lord Dattatreya who are residing at Visakhapatnam to arrange such programmes frequently at Simhachalam and feed the cows within their possible limits. ::avadhootha chinthana shree gurudevadatta:: Subrahmanyam.Bharathuladatta_gururayasmarthrugaami-dattavaibhavam

Dear Subrahmanyam garu,

Thank you for sharing the information below. It is spiritually very

uplifting for me to come to know of such holy undertakings.

With humble and due respects to everyone, may I inquire, if there

are any volunteers of this group or someone they know, in and around

the Vishakapatnam area who can form a group to address the ongoing

issue with the starving cows. There would be some of us (non-locals)

who can support the cause remotely.

Just a thought to ponder over for!!

Regards,

Mallik.
