Guest guest
Datta Avadhoota Dattatreya is a fascinating incarnation (Avatar) of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva that is very familiar to devotees of Sri Shiridi Sai Baba. It is a faithful belief of Sai devotees that Sri Sai is Dattatreya Himself. Eternal Avatar "Dharma Samsthaapanaardhaaya Sambhavaami Yuge Yuge," Lord Sri Krishna declared in Srimat Bhagavad Geeta. God manifests as Avatar to carry out His mission of protecting the righteous and punish the wicked. Hindu mythology describes many such Avatars. Most Avatars conclude their existence in specific forms soon after completing their missions. Sri Dattatreya is different in this aspect, He is an eternal Avatar. His mission is to appropriately guide the seekers of spiritual advancement and redeem their sins while continuing to provide for their material comforts. In spiritual advancement, individual results vary depending on the intent, sincerity, and accumulated karma-phala. He therefore dispenses His blessings appropriately to each seeker. You look to Him intensely, and He reciprocates; You cast your burden on Him and He bears; You entrust Him for guidance and He imparts. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction, it is the law of nature. Nature is God Himself. Dhyana Sloka Avadhootaa Sadaananda Parabrahma Swaroopine! Videha Deha Roopaaya Dattaatreya Namostute! Avadhoota Avadhoota is one that is kind, most enduring of all beings, unaffected, doing good to all, and of sinless disposition; an Avadhoota also represents the essence of truth and knowledge. In addition, an Avadhoota is one who is well-versed in Sruti and Smruti, who cast off all worldly desires, who acquired the knowledge of Self (i.e., God) and an excellence to be devoutly followed (Guru Varenya). Let us pause briefly to contemplate on Sri Shiridi Sai as Datta Avadhoota. How wonderfully He fits this definition. We know that no definition can fully capture the infinite-ness of Shiridi Sai Spirit and Power. Remind yourself of the many stories in Sri Sai Sat Charitra that touch upon the various Avadhoota attributes. ::SHREE GURU DATTATREYA|| SHREE PAADA RAAYA|| SHREE NRUSIMHA SARASWATHY YATHI RAAYA||
