Guest guest
Dear ShreeRam Gaaru/ Other Learned Members, I have started reciting this Kavacha from recently (earlier after joined the group may be in june i used to Listen to it from our files - by Ganapathi Sachidananda Swami) to ward off planetary influences (One Priest said Guru/Shani graham both were not favourable to me, they say atleast one should be favourable, due to which our family was facing some troubles last year).....But i have some doubts on this sadhana...Can you please clarify those I feel that faith/ Grace of Lord are the most important ingredients in Sadhana, but these questions i am asking out of childish curiosity... 1) Does Mental Chanting of Kavacha is suggested (I read some where mental chanting of mantra/stotra is more powerful) OR it should be only vachika chanting..if that is the case can laghu pooja all the pooja dravyam like Doopam/Deepam/Naivedyam can be offered mentally Answer: There are three major types of japa MANASIKA JAPA - Mental repetition of the mantra is called manasika japa. VAIKHARI JAPA – Mantra when chanted loud and verbally to shut out all worldly sounds is called vaikhari japa. UPAMSHU JAPA – Mechanical repetition of a mantra without any feeling also has a great purifying effect on the mind. This is upamshu japa. Manasika japa is considered Athi-shreshtam, Vaikhari as shreshtam and upamshu as Madhyamam. However, for stotras it is better if one does Vaikhari because a stotra has to be chanted out loudly as per the Japavidhi nirnaya to give the maximum benefit and vibrations to your surroundings. You would have noticed that, once you finish chanting a stotra loudly in a place and then coming back to the room after sometime one feels a strange divineness in the room, this is the effect of Vaikhari-nadas. Also, Manasika Japa might have the possibility of erroneous proununciation going unchecked as the manasika-ear is not so subtly developed for many modern people. Apart from this various distractive influences in the mind impede Manasika japa flow as far as the stotra is concerned. Stotra is big and hence vaikhari is preferable. Manasika is mainly meant for Japa only where the mantras are small and the mind can be easily yoked to the mantra keelakam(mantric pillar ) and where the pronunciational foibles are less. 2) Very less blessed people know about perfect way to do Anganyasa/ Karanyasa ( my curiosity asks what actually is anganyasa/ karanyasa for any mantram/stotram...), How un-initiated people can over come this... In Vimalananda`s Aghora Books it is said that If Nyasa is done correctly/perfectly the Diety would come & sit in our Body...if that is the case, not doing it properly (just reading as it is written) would give the desired result ..... Anganyaasa and Karanyaasas means imbibing the spirit of the mantra-devata into the sadhaka-sookshma deha. The perfect way of doing Anganyaasa and karanyaasa is to 1. Receive the anganyaasa and karanyaasa from a powerful guru 2. Get His shakthipatha deeksha for this specially. 3. Know the anganyaasa and karanyaasa mantras for each finger amd different parts of the body 4. Doing the same with the dhyaana. (Vimalanandaji in that book talks of advanced mantras for which anganyaasa, karanyaasa, shodanyaasa, rishinyaasa, muninyaasas are done. This vajra kavacham does not involve all such intricasies.) 3) Procedure says after dhyanam & laghu pooja that we need to chant "Pranavam Draam Moola Mantram" for 108 times, again the problem of initiation.....hoping Lord would excuse us if we chant without initiation....i have a question on procedure of chanting - somewhere (i dont remember where) it is said that japam yeilds good results if we use our fingers to count the japam...in case rosary is not availabe is this true.... One may use Fingers to count but one needs to know the praanic energy in the fingers and how they spread in different phallanges and there is a way from where to start(from the second phallange of the right hand ring finger and ending in the third phallange of the right hand index finger). Use of a rudraksha rosary is easier. Regarding the moola mantra dhyaanam, it only aids to accelerate the effect of the stotra and as you said it would be better if one got it from a Datta-guru. Normally, in olden days first the Datta-Moola mantra is given then this vajra kavacha and mala mantra is given. So the problem never arose but these days it is all topsyturvy. 4) You suggested that we`ll enjoy bliss if we recited it for 3 times, should this be done at a time OR can it be done at tri-sandhyas... I meant thri-sandhyas(and concentrating on heart region, I forgot to mention that.please excuse me). Other interesting things about this Vajra Kavacham are 1) This is from "Rudra Yamala Tantram" 2) The Phala Sruthi is really beautiful & exhaustive ( it covers everything...all diseases can be cured - they are named one by one, child-less can get child, chiraayuhu etc etc etc up to Jeevan Mukthi ) Your Brother, - Sainath J.O Purity, Powers, Parabrahmam...
