Guest guest
Dear Aarathi, Sai Ram. Sri Guru Datta. Sri Ekkirala Bharadwaja's book Sri Guru Charitra has some fairly detailed instructions on how to do Puja, Parayan etc. But more than the ritual (which is certainly important), Sraddha is more important. So, please do whatever you can with sraddha. Pl. give up one food item which you really relish for the Saptaha period and till your desires are fulfilled and you complete the vows taken if any. I am sure that Sri Datta will definitely bless you and will give you further directions. Sai Ram. Sri Guru Datta. Swamy P.S: You can feed the poor in any part of the world, including India or USA. If you can't do the poor feeding on that day, keep aside the money which you intended to spend and do it later. Intention is important. You can feed other animals also including dogs, cats, birds, insects etc. Sri Datta Saranam mama. Guest guest
Hello Aarthi, It is very good that you thought to do datt pujan, just don't eat non-veg, eggs, and don't consume liquors. In the matter of giving dakshina to poor or brahmin you can tell to do your mother and can give dakshina to any brahmin in US as well. I am sure there will be brahmin in your or near-by area, just gift what you want to. If you can't find particular one simply go to temple and gift dakshina to pujari. jai gurudatt, dhruvaarathi22222 <aarathi22222 wrote: Hi,I have started today the dattathriya puja, i am following this procedure which i have seen somewhere in the web site.Keep a beautiful picture of Sree Dattatreya and or of Sree Guru. Guest guest
on thursday, you can offer Rs.2 as dakshina in front of the photo of the Lord and distribute Kova (extract of milk) to friends / poor. with regards Bhaskarpara_anuloma <para_anuloma wrote: You may do so.Smarthrugaami-Dattavaibhavam , aarathi vattikolla <aarathi22222 wrote:>> Hi ,> > As i said i am doing the puja of dattatraya and it is completing on Wednesday , in the book they say i need to do annadhana on the completing day that is Wednesday, as i am asking my mother to do , as there is time difference in and states and India , can i ask my mother to do on annadhana on thurday.> thanks,> aarathi.> > Dhruv <dhruvitime wrote:> Dear Sir,> > By cast I am sadhu so I do understand very well that all pujaris in mandir are not brahmin, I am also entitled to do puja in mandir. In the olden days, Brahmin was the learned person who was praying and doing pujas and Homam( perhaps you call it a havan) for the benefit of society. He was not working or doing business for livelihood. So the society was giving dhakshina to him. Today every brahmin is working otherwise for his livelihood and indulges in puja for additional earning! So give the dhakshina or any offering after puja to any one really in need of it. There is no need to attach any brahmin to it!> Even if you do not find any deserving person, it does not matter, since Dutta does not ask you to give things to Brahmin but looks into your heart only.
