Guest guest
Dear SriDatta Bhaktaas!Namaskaaram! I have found a small difference in the two " dattastavams " which are available in MP3 format in our group file. It is related to ending word of second line of each slokam, ie., " smarthrugaami sanovathu " , in one which is in line with the PDf version , and the other is " smarthrugaami samaavathu " . As i have no knowledge of sanskrit, devotees may help in clarification about the right word which gives the intended meaning for recitation purpose. JAI GURUDATTA! Guest guest
Dear Narayana Rao Garu, The one which has the words " Smarthrugaami Sanovathu " is correct It means " One who comes the instant one is thought of " . Saha+Aanavathu=Sanovathu (as per Sandhi rules of Sanskrit Grammar). Samaavathu will change the meaning. I have checked the MP3 song version(sung by Sri Ganapathy Satchidananda Swamiji)and found it to be the same as in PDF. All the pdfs and the word document contains the word " Sanovathu " . I do not know where you found " Samavathu " in our files. Please tell me the file and I will remove the erroneous file. Thankyou for pointing out the error. Yours in Datta! Guest guest
Dear Narayana Rao Garu, Thankyou very much for pointing it out. I have removed the erroneous file. Music and tunes are important to get a divine feeling but if the very words of the prayer are wrong, then it frustrates the purpose. The word " Samaavathu " will bear a meaning " One who is equal to us or who resembles human comes near us " !!!. This is subverting the meaning. This is Kaliyuga. People sing songs with blatant erros in the name of devotional songs and market it to unknowing people for money. Each sound has a different vibration as ws found by scietific studies (cymatics). So, a variation in word or sound produces a different effect. Better to chant just " Datta datta datta " with full devotion than trying to act smart and getting detrimental results. Thankyou once again for pointing out this mistake.
