Guest guest
DATTAATREYA TRIMOORTHI ROOPA|| THRIBHUVANA LOKA RAKSHAKAA|| DATTOPAASANA Dattopasana would include repetition of the name as much as possible every day (Naamasmaran), the pooja or worship of the deity with 16 steps or 6 or even 5 (Shodashopachara or shadupachaara or panchopachaara), or listening to Katha or deeds of the deity or reciting the prayers like Datta-bavani, reading volume like Shri-Guru charitra or Shri Guruleelamrutham or Dattapuranam. The repeating the name of the deity is the easiest of the nine varieties of devotion. As a special assisgnment, one may recite the Datta mantra (DIGAMBARA DIGAMBARA SREE PAADA VALLABHA DIGAMBARA) or chant, the long and straining datta – maala mantra which is used for Datta-yaaga could be employed by senior devotees just as they can read Dwisaahasri of Swami Vasudevanand Saraswathi. Even repetition of the name of Bhagawan Dattatreya is equally efficacious if done with devotion and concentration. Dattopasana will be useful for an enlightened devotee to know about basic principles of Vedic religion, its attitudes and approaches to life.
