on New Year of Vikrami Samvat 2067

 

 

 

 

 

 

Hello My dear Brothers and Sisters,

Good Morning and a

Great New Day full of laughter,

joy and peace to you all,

 

 

Today is Chaitra Shukla Pratipada or the beginning of the Hindu

New year as in Vikrami Samvat 2067, also celebrated as Chaitra

Navratri,

 

also known as Chait Navratras, as

the name indicates which is observed

 

during the Chaitra month (March – April)

in a traditional Hindu calendar

 

followed in North India . Chaitra Navaratri 2010 begins on March 16

 

and ends on

March 24. The festival is dedicated to Goddess Shakti

 

and three of her

most popular forms– Goddess Durga, Lakshmi and

 

Saraswati – are worshipped during the period.

 

 

 

It begins on the first day of the Chaitra

month and ends with Ram

Navami.

 

 

The day of Shukla Pratipada or the first day of Chaitra Navratri is

 

also know as Gudi padwa in maharashtra and the whole nine

 

day festival is known by different names like Ram Navaratri,

Vasant Navratri, Basant Navrathri and some people also refer to

 

it as Spring Navaratras

 

 

Chaitra Navratri is observed when Mother Nature undergoes an

 

important climate change. It also marks the beginning of the

 

summer season. There is a popular belief that the fasting during

 

Chaitra Navrati is to prepare the body for the ensuing summer season.

 

 

Chaitra Navratri is more famous in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand,

Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and in other

 

parts of North India . Some of the most important temple fairs

 

in the Shakti Temples in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand

 

take place during this period.

 

 

 

After the break I took mid february, this seemed the best time

 

 

for me to resume posting in the New Year with hopefully new

 

hopes and optimism and the fond belief that all such blessings

will

 

be fully utilised in a manner of expressing appreciation and gratefulnessand in living a more balanced Life harmonised with Dharmic Laws

 

 

With such positive thoughts, Lets sound the bugle for the New year

 

for New beginnings, New dreams, New hopes, and most important of all A ReNEWal

of Faith and Hope and Love for everyone on Earth

 

 

A lot has been happening and I tried to cover it in the

but there's nothing like a newsletter ed to say what one wishes to

 

in the best way possible ...

 

No doubt these eds when relevant will make it to the (as this

one has) for greater participation and enrichment with sharing of thoughts

 

 

Three major things happening on the news front these days

 

Sexy Swamis, Womens' reservations and Price rise each vying

for space in our minds and focus ... At times, it seems as if their

 

coming into focus is contrived .... more for ensuring that no one

 

issue remains in focus long enough to allow for some penetrative thinking

(oops, can I use that word .. penetrative , especially with the fake Swamis lurking around .. )

 

 

The politicians are their usual pathetic and corrupt selves, the youth is both bitter and idealistic, the economy is "supposedly" looking up and the natural disasters are occuring in the backyard of the developed nations, giving them ample opportunity to shed some prosperous

guilt

and flab in order to maintain their semblance of being righteous leaders ...

 

 

 

In order words, everything normal??? (For who I wonder )

 

 

A sobering thought at times is that "This too shall pass"But one which might jolt you into doing something is much bettersomething as in

One

day

your life will flash before your eyes.

Make sure its worth watching.
