Namaste All,

What has become of our peace sankalpa?

Some of you might be like me, and have fallen behind. I have figured

out that if I do 7 malas a day, from now to the end of the year, I can

make the 100,000.

Let's push hard to fulfill our pledge to our Mother ! Anyone out there

who is in the same boat as me?

Who will join me in making a push to finish the vow?

Jai Maa!

Nirmalananda

Dear Nirmalananda, I am! Me too! I started late. So I am chanting 5

malas daily during the week and as much as I can on the weekends. It

is a continuing blessing to be a part of this sankalpa. Jennifer

NAMASTE: Glad to hear your voice. Hope you and family are all well.

Great that you are completing. I have been doing 6 malas per day for

a long time, while driving, etc. I will finish by year end too.

I suggest that all who have finished, that the world still really

needs that mantra. I hope you will all join us in chanting daily so

that we can all keep our minds and hearts focused on peace.

Namaste Nirmalananda,

I am still working on this. I was chanting 3 malas a day since the

beginning. I am only about a week or so behind, but working hard to

catch up, or even get ahead. I am completely committed to finishing.

Nanda Maa -- Perhaps you can send an email to the group so our totals

can be posted. That might inspire everyone and remind us of the time

left. Also, I imagine there are many who have finished, and that might

also serve as inspiration that we can all do it!!

Thank you Nirmalananda for bringing this subject back into the light.

After a long break last month I resumed chugging along mantra by

Namaste Gauri Ji Maharani and others,

Having a hand clicker is a must. It allows you to click off reps everywhere you go. I clicked while driving, while shopping, while hanging out with the kids, while preparing dinner, while exercising, watching TV, surfing the internet and even at work. I work as an exercise trainer and I am constantly using my hands, so I kept the clicker in my pocket and clicked off one or more reps of the mantra--the real workout--while my client rested. All of those reps add up. You can easily do the same, if you are willing to make the effort.

I wanted to complete my commitment to Maa as quickly as I could, so I could go on to other sadhanas. It did cut into some other mantra practices I was doing, but it was okay. I also knew that summer time would be out for me. So I pushed myself. I even fell asleep with the clicker in hand sometimes! I had a base number I wanted to get to and then I would usually say, well I've done this much already and its only 9 PM, why not do another mala or two? And then I would repeat this mental push. Same principle I use with exercise. Its a fun mind game.

While it is nice to do some practices on the same asan, at the same place, the same time each day, I also found doing this kind of practice VERY beneficial. It showed me just how much time there is to praise HER throughout the day, regardless of what task I was doing.

Look Maa asked us to do this for the sake of our planet and its people. If we, as spiritual practitioners and HER devotees can't even take the time to finish a simple commitment, what hope does this world have of improving? We need to set the example.

Please all of you who still have to finish, please push yourselves a little more. You can do it! Just a few more reps (now that sounds familiar! HA!)

The joke is the real benefit comes right back to you!

JAI MAA!

Surya

JAI MAAAAAAAAAAAA Gauri MAAAAAAAAAAA

You go DEVI!!!

Look finish the commitment to MAA anyway you can. Then you can do more if you like in any other fashion you prefer.

As I said anyway, I really enjoyed the experience of focusing on repeating that mantra all day long. I even let it take precedence over my repeating my Guru Mantra in that fashion, which is my norm (though often without the clicker). I wasn't enthralled about that either, so it just pushed me even more to do even more. Then instead of just the 100K or 108K, I went farther to a number that seemed cool, auspicious and appropriate. 11-11-11. 1+1=11 (Gauri Shankar)

I am so honored that you even took my suggestion and personal experience to help stoke the fire higher in yours. What a Blessing for me!

Namaste Gauri Maa, et al,

I, too, love that clicker -- I carry it with me all the time (until I

lose it -- I'm on my third one!!)

I would like to offer one suggestion that has helped me. I make

one 'click' for every 4 times I say the mantra. I found that clicking

on every mantra began to tire my thumb and distract me (also a little

noisy). Clicking every 4 mantras (or whatever number you choose)is

easy, and when the clicker reads 27, I know I have finished the

equivalent of one complete mala.

May Mother's blessing be with us, strengthening our resolve to

complete our sankalpa with ease and grace.

love to all

Namaste all!

Interesting suggestion. I never found it tired my thumb and like the rhythm of the click with the mantra. I found find more room for mistakes in counting if I had to count to 4 while repeating the mantra, especially when doing other activities.

But whatever works for each of us is great!

You're welcome. Seeing these posts is inspiring !way131 <wendy131 wrote: Namaste Nirmalananda, I am still working on this. I was chanting 3 malas a day since the beginning. I am only about a week or so behind, but working hard to catch up, or even get ahead. I am completely committed to finishing. Nanda Maa -- Perhaps you can send an email to the group so our totals can be posted. That might inspire everyone and remind us of the time left. serve as inspiration that we can all do it!! Thank you Nirmalananda for bringing this subject back into the light.
