Srivathsena praThithavibhavam SreepadhanyaasaDhanyam maDhyam baahvoH maNivararuchaa ranjitham rangaDhaamnaH saandhracChaayam tharuNa thulasee chithrayaa vyjayanthyaa santhaapam me Samayathi DhiyaH chandhrikodhaarahaaram The chest of the Lord RanganaTha, which is made glorious with the mark of srivatsa on it and purified by Sridevi who stepped into it, which was rendered red by the lustre of the gem kousthubha and with dense shadow of the beautiful and wonderfully fresh tulasi leaves in the garland vyjayanthee, and the large pearl necklace shining like a moon, removes the heat in my heart. baahvoH maDhyam- the middle between the arms, the chest, rangaDhaamnaH- of RanganaaTha, whose abode, Dhaama, is Srirangam praThithavibhavam- the glory of which is declared srivathsena- by the mark of Srivathsa SreepadhanyaasaDhanyam- which was made auspicious by the feet of Sridevi in it. Lakshmidevi stepping in to the chest of the Lord to make it her abode sanctified it by her feet. Ranjitham- which is made colourful maNivararuchaa- by the red hue of the gem kousthubha. saandhracChaayam- which is made cool by the dense tharuNa thulasee chithrayaa- fresh tulasi leaves in the garland vyjayanthyaa- known as vyjayanthee maala vyjayayanthi which normally means garland of forest flowers, vanmaala, also implies bhoothathanmaathra adhishtaana devatha the divinity behind the elements. The vanamaala here is the maya of the Lord which He wears like a garland in His manifestations chandhrikodhaarahaaram-on which shines the large pearl necklace cool and white like the moon Samayathi- (such a chest) cools down me DhiyaH santhaapam- the heat in my mind due to the ills of samsara which is like fire. The coolness which removes the heat ids provided by the vyjayanthi mala containing tulasi leaves whioch are supposed to have a cooling effect and also by the pearl necklace which is compared to a moon and hence emits cool rays.
