Guest guest
Dear Shri Vasu Vadhyar Swamin A few thoughts about your reply: /God is everywhere/ --acceptable statement. But this does not mean to deny the presence of Him in Idols. /Idol is mere representation /-- not acceptable. Idol is more than that. After consecreation, idol becoms Suddha Satvam and God resides in it. (????????? ???????? ?????????? ????????) /If you are able to come to the stage that real God is facing every direction /--this statement assumes that in the spiritual evolution, idol worship is a stage and you get across this stage to realise higher God--which is also not correct. We say God assumes five States of existence. (????? ??????????? ?????? ????????? ????? ????????...???????????? ????????????? ....) These are some of the popular thoughts sewn by non-Visishtadvaidtins, which have settled deep-rooted from our younger days and should be removed totally. I may be corrected, if wrong. K Murali *** I accept all your statements. But I did not told god is not there in that idol. I also explained in another question also the same thing. At this point I wish to clear thing that one should not think that God is only in the idol which is kept in the pooja room, and we should keep our decipline their only. Also to stress a point elders will use the " Nahi nindha nyayam " to make a thing great for that praticular point or reason by comparing a popular thing. எமà¯à®ªà¯†à®°à¯à®®à®¾à®©à¯ பர, வà¯à®¯à¯‚க, விபவ, அநà¯à®¤à®°à¯à®¯à®¾à®®à®¿, à®…à®°à¯à®šà¯à®šà¯ˆ எனà¯à®± à®à®¨à¯à®¤à¯ நிலைகளில௠பரவியà¯à®³à¯à®³à®¾à®©à¯ எனà¯à®ªà®¤à¯ அனைவரà¯à®®à¯ அறிநà¯à®¤à®¤à¯‡. அடியேனà¯à®Ÿà¯ˆà®¯ கரà¯à®¤à¯à®¤à¯à®ªà¯à®ªà®Ÿà®¿ உரà¯à®µà®™à¯à®•à®³à¯ எனà¯à®ªà®¤à¯ மனிதரà¯à®•à®³à¯à®•à¯à®•à¯ ஒர௠ஈடà¯à®ªà®¾à®Ÿà¯à®Ÿà¯ˆ à®à®±à¯à®ªà®Ÿà¯à®¤à¯à®¤à¯à®µà®¤à®±à¯à®•à®¾à®•à®µà¯‡ எனà¯à®ªà®¤à¯ˆ உணரவேணà¯à®Ÿà¯à®®à¯ எனà¯à®ªà®¤à¯ˆà®¯à¯à®®à¯. சிதà¯à®¤à®¾à®•à®µà¯à®®à¯, அசிதà¯à®¤à®¾à®•à®µà¯à®®à¯ அநà¯à®¤ எமà¯à®ªà¯†à®°à¯à®®à®¾à®©à¯‡ எலà¯à®²à®¾à®µà®¿à®Ÿà®™à¯à®•à®³à®¿à®²à¯à®®à¯ உறைகிறான௠எனà¯à®ªà®¤à¯ˆ அறிநà¯à®¤à®¿à®°à¯à®¤à¯à®¤à®²à¯ வேணà¯à®Ÿà¯à®®à¯ எனà¯à®±à¯à®®à¯, திசைகளிலà¯à®®à¯, பொரà¯à®³à¯à®•à®³à®¿à®²à¯à®®à¯ வேறà¯à®ªà®¾à®Ÿà¯à®•à®¾à®£à®²à®¾à®•à®¾à®¤à¯ எனà¯à®±à¯à®®à¯, அதà¯à®ªà¯‡à®¾à®©à¯à®± ஸாரமறà¯à®± விஷயஙà¯à®•à®³à®¿à®²à¯ மனதைச௠செலà¯à®¤à¯à®¤à®¿ கலகà¯à®•à®®à®Ÿà¯ˆà®¨à¯à®¤à¯, எமà¯à®ªà¯†à®°à¯à®®à®¾à®©à¯ˆà®¤à¯ தà¯à®¤à®¿à®¤à¯à®¤à®²à®¾à®•à®¿à®¯ கைஙà¯à®•à®°à¯à®¯à®¤à¯à®¤à¯ˆ பயதà¯à®¤à®¿à®©à®¾à®²à¯‡, சநà¯à®¤à¯‡à®•à®¤à¯à®¤à®¿à®©à®¾à®²à¯‡à®¾ விடà¯à®Ÿà¯à®µà®¿à®Ÿà¯à®¤à®²à¯ˆ தவிரà¯à®•à¯à®•à¯ à®®à¯à®•à®®à®¾à®• பயமà¯, சநà¯à®¤à¯‡à®•à®®à¯ இவறà¯à®±à¯ˆ நீகà¯à®•à®µà¯‡à®£à¯à®Ÿà®¿à®¯à®¤à¯‡ à®®à¯à®¤à®²à¯ விஷயம௠எனà¯à®±à¯à®®à¯ அடியேன௠கரà¯à®¤à¯à®•à®¿à®±à¯‡à®©à¯. Guest guest
Dear NVS Really beautifully explained. A true brahmin you are, that is proved. Pl keep it up. Regards Srinivasan Chennai *** Another member had critizised my explanation and he is correct. To encourrage one to do as what he think liberally, I degraded the one of the most important 'Avatharam' of God the 'Archai'. This is due to lake of English knowledge. If I explained it in Tamil I could able to mangae both the things. Another thing we should keep in mind. There is no Agama rules for establishing a pooja room in a house except some traditional followings. Elders knew it very well, that it is very difficult to follow a strict rule in homes. So, they grant us the Archai as Saalagrama moorthi facing all the sides. Guest guest
SrI: Dear Sri Lakshman Iyer : If the SamprOkshaNam /KumbhAbhishEkam was done in VaikAnasa Way , then the worship has to continue the same way . Same for PaacharAthram way of Consecration , which has to be followed by PaancharAthra Mode of worship . The two VaishNavite Aagamaas are VaikhAnasa ( linked to Sage Vikanasa ) and the other linked to Sriman narAyaNa Himself . The VaikAnasa Bhattars are at Thirumalai , Oppiliappan Sannidhi , ThirukkOyilUr ,Thiruvaheendhrapuram , ThiruvallikkENi and a few other places . Typically , there are more temples in PaancharAthra Mode of worship . PaancharAthra priest is more flexible than VaikhAnasa mode . There are schools at Kanchi , Melkote where students are trained to become priests in either of the modes . You can therefore find the priest trained in VaikAnasa Aagamam There are two things in your note that struck me : 1.Your village is prosperous 2. The previous VaikAnasa priest was sent out rather unceremoniously and that has led to bruises with in that community . There are poor VaikAnasa Priests , who will jump with joy over a good offer ( a house , good salary and more than anything else respect ) . I can give you nmaes of few VaikAnasa Bhattars to start your recruitment process . You would have to visit some of these places to choose who may be the most appropriate . Many priests are leaving their traditional places in the temples and are going for MBA and IT Jobs . Best wishes , V.Sadagopan P.S : " Po Devi " should be spelled BhU Deavi ( BhUmi Devi) . - " Lakshman Iyer " <laxmansk2001 <vaideekam >; <ahobilavalli > Monday, April 02, 2007 10:11 AM [Vaideekam] (unknown) > Dear Sir, > > I belong to SUNDARAPANDIAPURAm AN AFFLUENT VILLAGE IN > tIRUNELVELI DISTRICT and our prime temple deity is > SRI RAJAGOPALASWAMY with Sreedevi and Pothevi. > Accoding to agama sasthra, only VAIHANASAM priests > should only do puja in our temple. Guest guest
Dasan! It is better to continue the same Vaikanasa tradition inyour village temple with Vaikanasa priest. In case you don't get asuitable Vaikanasa bhattar, then you may approach Pancharatra Agamavidwans to convert the mode of worship to Pancharatra Agamam by doingSamprokshanam as per Pancharatra tradition. Thereafter any Pancharatrabhattar can do the kainkaryams. Dasan ! Guest guest
Respectful SwAmin, The tharpanam water contains ellu which is not supposed to be poured on muddy floor to prevent any plant growth from left over ellu. This is what adiyEn heard as said by seniors. So it should not be poured in the Tulasi pot. Hope it is correct. The water used for achamanam is considered as "Echchal".nvs Now surf faster and smarter ! Check out the new Firefox 3 - Edition * Click here! Guest guest
Respected vasu mama, After completing sandyavandanam, I usually says 'SARVAM SRI KRISHANARPANAMASTHU' and pour the remaining water in tulasi. However as per your advice, i think i should stop putting the water in tulasi and put the left over water in wash basin and only argyam water should be put in tulasi. am i right? My doubt is if v say sarvam sri krishnarpanamasthu, it is presumed to be placing it in the lotus feet of the Lord, hence wd it be proper to put the water in wash basin. I thought as the lotus feet is as sacred as a tulasi and hence putting the water in tulasi. pl. advice. regards sridhar/railways *** The whole universe is a tiny part of the Lotus feet of Sriman Narayanan only (including the wash basin, Pooja room, Tulsi pot etc. of your house). And 'Sarvam Krishnarpanamastu' is not meant the remaining water, it denotes all " the karma Phalan " done by you from start to end of this sandhya vandhanam is submitted to Lord Krishna's account and not to my account is the real meaning. If you have a place other than wash basin, say under the water tap placed in the kitchen etc. can be used for your satisfaction . Here is my explanation for previous doubt raised by another member: Always the " Sandhyayai namaha " should start from the corresponding direction and the remaining should follow the remaining direction. Morning Sandhyayai namaha towards - East Afternoon Sandhyayai namaha towards - North Evening Sandhyayai namaha towards - West. Also, I request members like deepak kumar vasudevan, always giving links to other websites, it is not a good practice. We should try to give the answer on that spot with the reference page etc instead of redirecting members from reading other posts in our group. Also all members are learned persons, they know well to search the internet to find results. Here members are expecting the authenticated reply from educated persons like Dr.Sadagopan and some experienced persons. Also if we place the answer in this group, then only it will be helpful for all members and to get other members opinions regarding the subject. Otherwise the one or two interested (very small percentage) persons only can visit the redirected page. nvs
