Guest guest
Dear Sir, I have heard about Mantrarajapada Stotram and would like to chant it on a daily basis. Is it ok to do so, coz I heard that only after receiving it through a Sadacharyans upadesam should one recite the same for the desired Phalams to fructify. As Iam outside India this will be a difficult task for me. However I had my upanayanam , samasreyanam and bharanyasam through HH 44th Jeeyar of Ahobila mutt. Can I recite HIS thaniyan and then start reciting this stotram. Also I heard from my elders that this stotram has Shabhdhams that are real powerful as it was composed by Rudran. That being the case should I follow any strict practice before reciting this stotram. As the weather conditions in the place where I stay goes below zero very easily It is very difficult to have head bath everyday before chanting this stotram. Kindly provide your suggestions. Guest guest
SrI: Dear Sri AnanathakrishNan : Few Comments about your questions on Sri Mantrarajapadha StOtram : 1. It is composed by Ahibudhnyan ( aka Rudran). Hr is one of the greatest Nrisimha BhakthAs and does Prapatti to Sri Nrisimhan in this stOtram . There is nothing to fear about the recitation of this stOtram . 2. Since you are a SrI Matam sishya , You have a special relationship to this stOtram . I can understand your attraction to it . 3. This stotram contains one slOkam , which is the NrusimhAnushtup mantram . That is the one that has to be recieved as UpadEsam from one's AchAryan for Mantra Japam . There are nyAsam etc as it is for all mantrAs for Upaasanam .For Phala siddhi , You have to recieve the upadEsam from Srimad Azhagiya Singar on your next trip to India and seek His anugraham and if he so chooses , HH Srimad Azhagiya Singar might bless You . AchAram , anushtAnam are very important here . 4. Dr.T.G.Ramamurthy , Managing Ediror of the English version od SrI Nrisimha Priya has translated the slOkams of Sri Mantra Raaja Padha StOtram in to English .We will be releasing it soon as an ebook in the Srihayagrivan series ( http://www.srihayagrivan.org ) 5. You can meanwhile recite Swamy Desikan's KaamAseekAshtakam , which is very powerful and specific MantrOpadEsam is not needed . You can add SudarsanAshrakam to your daily prayers . Both have been released as ebooks with original SlOkams , Meanings and Commentaries in the Sundara Simham series : http://www.sundarasimham.org 5. VaikunThavAsi Sri MukkUr Lakshmi NarasimhaachAr has released many articles in Tamil SrI Nrisimha PriyA and dwelt at length on the profound meanings of each word of the Sri NrusimhAnushtup Mantram of the Mantra Raaja Padha StOtram . All of those are available in a special DVD released earlier during the occasion of the SatAbhishEkam of Prakrutam Srimad Azhagiya Singar , two years ago . You can acquire a copy of this by sending email to Sriman Rajaji and sending some samarpaNam to the upcoming 82nd Thirunakshatra Utsavam of Srimad Azhagiya Singar , who is copied on this note . He is in USA like myself. 6. There are nine kinds of snAnam , one of which is Maanasa Snaanam with Mantram , when one is unable to have head to foot snAnam with water . This is allowed by SaastrAs in an emergency .
