20.2: If one has children born in

the same lagnam with two wives,

seperate (2) AchAryAs have to

perform Vaidhika KarmAs in two

Vedikais ( Fire pits/agni kuntams).

 

21. Who should not be offered namaskArams?

 

NamaskArams should not be performed

for those younger than one ; same for

chitthappa , uncle , Father-in-Law if

they are younger than one . One should

however get up and greet them ( Show

respect ot them).

 

22. The qualifications/lakshaNams

for a KanyA appropriate for considering

marriage :

 

221.1 KanyAs with following avalakshaNams

(disqualifications) should not be considered :

 

a) one with auburn or reddish hair( sempattai)

b) one who is fatter than the would be husband

c) One with With hair all over the body

d) one with little hair on the head( Baldish)

e) One with " cat's eyes " ( very light color)

f) with body as dark as one's hair

g) One having the name of Nakshathram,

river , tree or mountain

h) one with skin having very light pigmentation

( VeNN Kushtam ?)

i) One who is too tall or too short

j) One with moustache

k) One with rough voice

l) One with fearsome name

m) One with roaring voice

n) One with voice like that of the crow

o) One with round eyes

p) One who is foul smelling

Q) One who has twisted row of teeth

r) One whose brows are joined

s) one who has six fingers in hand or foot

 

22.2: not recommended to marry a girl ,

who is the one and only child

 

22.3 The age of the girl should be atleast

one year less than the boy.Otherwise , there

is no approval by saastrams .

 

23: KanyakadhAna Karthaa : who can give

the Kannikai away in marriage ?

 

23.1: Father, Paternal Grandfather, Brother ,

Brothers of the Father, Maternal grandfather,

Uncle , SagOthran ( One having the same

gOthram) , Relatives can perform kanyAdhAnam ;

If they are not available , the nearest relative

and those who belong to the same Gruhya

Soothram can perform kanyA dhAnam .

 

23.2: One with disease or one who is mad

should not perform KanyA dhAnam .
