We recall our discussion with your goodself, wherein we hadmentioned about *Somayaga-2007*, project plan. This is one of the endangered ancient Vidya (knowledge) and by conducting yagas periodically, we canpreserve this knowledge for the posterity. You had considered our requestand had agreed to support the project financially. By the grace of God we are conducting APTHORYAMA SOMA YAGAM at Bangalore from 17th April to 26th April 2007. *Sri Sri Vishweshwara ThirthaSwamiji* of *Pejawara Mutt* has agreed to provide required space for Yaga at*Vidyapeetha,, Kathriguppa main road, **Bangalor*e. The *Rithwiks* are from *Gokarna.* The *Yajamana* and *Yajamana patni* have to be Agnihotris and forthis Yaga the Agnihotris are from a remote village in Goa. *Agnihotri* is aperson who worships *Tretagni* daily and performs the morning and evening * agnihotram.* The *Yajnavedi* is a 'GARUDA CHAYANA', eagle shaped fire altar,with 1200 special bricks. This ten day Yaga will be a very rare ritualperformed in Bangalore after 5 decades. We are expecting many Vedic scholars to participate in this yaga. The salient features of the Yaga are as follows:1. Participation by eminent scientists of different scientificdisciplines will *scientifically study* the impact of the yaga on humans, animals, plants and the environment.2. Another item that attracts people is a ten day *Vedic Seminar *inwhich prominent Vedic scholars, scientists and eminent thinkers participate.The Vedic seminar will begin with a benedictory address by renowned Pontiffs of various institutions. Many Shrouthi (Shroutha pandit specialized inperforming Yaga) who are the custodians of this knowledge will be *honoured*.The eye-catching moment of the yaga will be the participation of Prof. Frits Staal of Berkeley University; his magnum opus AGNI continues to be one ofthe most reliable reference works for researchers in the field of Vedas.3. *Chaturveda Samhita Homa *will also be performedsimultaneously i.ealong withSomayaga.4. *Souvenir* containing articles on yaga and its allied topics writtenby eminent scholars will be released on this special occasion.5. *Vedic exhibition* and bookstalls displaying Vedic literature, are the other features of the Yaga.6. Every one can watch the nonstop performance of the Yaga for 24 hoursduring the last three days. All are welcome to participate in this* roundthe clock ritual*.
