Dear Sanjay,

Pranaams. Thanks for the interesting anecdote. You mentioned

Vimsottari dasa upto 6 levels!!! How the deuce did you know that I was

grappling with 6 level Vimsottari dasa all throughout the night? The

seeds for grappling with this complex dasa was sown in mails by

Narasimha and Ramanarayan (on other forums) where sookshma aspects was

mentioned as aspects in navamsa and kunda rectification in prasna to

match with 6 level lagna Vimsottari dasa. Is it possible that the

trivarga corresponding to the three types of sariras can be used to

interpret the 6 level Vimsottari dasa here? This is entirely different

from what you have taught Narasimha (to the best of my understanding).

Could you please share how you arrived at the prediction of rainfall

following the puja? The mantra seems to be 4 words and 9 aksharas so

the mantradevata sits in the 2nd house. probably some vak siddhi as

well? As I type this, I hear the music of a baraat party. Something

auspicious in the air.

best regards

Hari

Dear Kanu and Hari

Kanu you sent me another mail where the marriage procession ruled by Venus indicates Jala tatwa as does the rainfall also - jala tatwa. So what does this indicate?

Did you know that unmarried people go to Mukteswara and then they get maried and childless couples get children after circumbulating the temple reciting the mantra. The ones seeking pure knowledge recite

om hraum om bhur-bhuva-svah sadaashivaaya mukteswaraaya namah at the temple for hours.

With best wishes and warm regards,

Sanjay Rath

Dear Sanjay,

Pranaams. You guessed correctly once again that I have been medidating

on the names given to the finer 3 levels. Thanks for confirming the

line of my thinking; I will try to plough the (lonely) furrow along

these lines. It looks like nowadays you have some new insights into

how this complex dasa operates, maybe some recent burrowing through

your grandfathers notes?...why is BPHS intentionally vague on the

connection between the different levels? At least, this is how it

looks to me.

best regards

Hari

Dear Sanjay/Kanu,

2nd house can be seen for marriage too and there is an amsa

parivartana between Mars (rasi 2nd lord) and Venus in Sanjays chart.

2nd house is also Kutumba Shiva and probably some spiritual

transformation related to Sadashiva (may be Dattatreya) is indicated.

In case, I am off-track, please excuse me.

best regards

Hari

Dear Hari

BPHS assumes that you are reading it after learning that there are seven

lokas and that these seven lokas are connected by SIX chakras or time scales

and that these six time scales are the basis of all dasa systems. For

example the Kalachakra (if you have really studies it then you will know)

has SIX levels or inner mandalas.

So every dasa system must incorporate the connection between the seven lokas

which is done by the six time scales or dasa, antara, pratyantara,

sookshamtara, prana antara and deha antara...

....more food for thought

With best wishes and warm regards,

Dear Sanjay,

Pranaams. You guessed correctly once again that I have been medidating on

the names given to the finer 3 levels. Thanks for confirming the line of my

thinking; I will try to plough the (lonely) furrow along these lines. It

looks like nowadays you have some new insights into how this complex dasa

operates, maybe some recent burrowing through your grandfathers notes?...why

is BPHS intentionally vague on the connection between the different levels?

At least, this is how it looks to me.

Dear Hari

All of you seem to have become over sensitive...I think its the sunlight of

May/June. I am not offended not have I become sensitive. In fact I gave you

more clues to keep ploughing. Thats my way and it always has been. After all

brilliant young researchers like you need for for thought.

I presume you hae asked the six questions to yourself and list members. so I

am forwarding this to Varahamihira where the brilliant discussion continues.

Take up a case study and then things will fall in place.

|Sri Varaha| Mukteswara episode

||Om Namo Narayanaaya||

Dear Sanjay,

Pranaams. OK, I am taking this off-list as I understand that you are

reluctant to share parampara insights on the Varahamihira forum. Also I see

that you probably got offended at a perceived slight to Good Ol' Maharishi

Parasara's book...smile. Just want to clarify that I meant no slight or

otherwise. Just an observation from me, thats all.

Thanks for the further insights; you are right in that they are much food

for thought. Do you mean that the lokas are representative both of the micro

as well as macro-cosmos? Quite uncanny, that advice to study the

kalachakra...I really must pick up Ramanarayans notes on that and read it.

Now let me share my line of thinking with you:

(1) There is a connection between the hora and the deha-antara...where is

this connection seen? (question to myself)

(2) The three sariras are sthula, sookshma and karana.

According to the karmashayas, the seed of any event first germinates in the

karana, then on to the sookshma before manifesting in the sthula.

(3) Since that great blessed soul Maharishi Parasara said 'shastyamsa to be

seen *for all matters*', I thought that karana sarira should correspond to

the shastyamsa for seeing these effects. So the deha-antara is to be seen in

shastyamsa.

(4) The next level prana antara also to be seen in shastyamsa wrt pranapada

lagna as it shows the 'breathing of life' into the dormant seed.

(5) Sookshma antara to be seen in navamsa as it directly connects us to our

bhagya...whether the seed flourishes or not.

(6) Rest as you have already enunciated; can be seen with reference to rasi.

After seeing deha & sookshma, we can decide upon appropriate divisionals to

be seen before arriving at a decision.

So my thinking is to use a trivarga at the minimum if we are to analyse 6

level dasa. What do you think?

When I read BPHS to confirm this logic, I couldnt see any such pattern...not

that Parasara is imperfect, we are.

best regards

Hari

Dear Sanjay,

Pranaams. No, I have not become oversensitive...you know me quite well.

I asked only the first question for myself and the rest of the six

points are for comment by you/learned persons on varahamihira. No

doubt, because of the clues you have given, I will keep ploughing.

Regarding case study, I was thinking of doing that; thanks for the

encouragement.

Dear Sanjay,

OK, the discussion continues as you wanted it to be.

So now we have 7 lokas joined by SIX links. Assuming that the lokas

are representative of both macro and micro- cosmos (here, can you

suggest some reading material or is it the puranas again?), it follows

that we need 6 levels of dasa states to characterize an event taking

place in the jataka.

Then we also have the trisareeras AND the panchakoshas. Based on a

quick reading of the online material by Swami Krishananda (divine life

society), we have the following mapping of sariras to kosas as follows:

Annamaya kosha – sthula sarira

Pranamaya kosha – sukshma sarira

Manomaya kosha – sukshma sarira

Vijnanamaya kosha – sukshma sarira

Anandamaya kosha – karana sarira

You have said before that the panchakosas relate to the harmonics in

the divisional chart scheme (D1 to D12 and so on). Therefore the logic

which I proposed in the mail to you is somewhat confirmed in the sense

that we can definitely use:

Anandamaya kosha - karana sarira - shastyamsa (possibly higher

divisionals also) - deha antara & prana antara???

Middle koshas - sukshma sarira - navamsa - sukshma antara ?

Annamaya kosha - sthula sarira - rasi - maha/antar/pratyantar ?

That is what I have thought till date. My doubts relate to the six

links and how to relate them to the 3 sariras...somewhere we are

jumping the links.

Coming back to the panchakosas, from BPHS, the delineation of results

is like this:

Mahadasa - Antar ---> 1st kosha

Antar - Pratyantar ---> 2nd kosha

Pratyantar - Sukshmaantar ---> 3rd kosha

Sukshmaantar - Pranaantar ---> 4th kosha

Pranaantar - Dehaantar ---> 5th kosha

Kindly let me know if this logic is valid or not.

Dear Hari

We have six levels of dasa and kosha has a completely different meaning.

What are you trying? Will it ever match or map? Read Lakshmi Ramesh's paper

on this aspect in the JD. She has done a wonderful job.

With best wishes and warm regards,

Dear Sanjay,

Pranaams. Could you please explain what is the context or meaning in

which koshas are to be used?

Are you referring to the paper that Lakshmi Ramesh presented at the

SJC Mumbai conference, the one on sri yantra and tracing the parallels?
