U asked a good question .I come across the arudha is used 2 differrent ways in kerala One is take a planet and take 8th from that place so aruda is that place ,but i find it in some literature only and i never come across people who uses it. Another one is popular and every body uses it --its mainly used in jaimini sistem. Take lord of a house and see where it is placed ,and count as many as houses from it the house falls will be arudha of that house.Though many uses many exceptions . But its not sjc creation But sjc takes differrent way Sri.K N Rao uses differrent way .sri.P S Sastry uses differrent way ,sri .SURYA NARAYANA RAO in differrent way .and sri. C S PATEL in differrent way and B V raman though grand son of surya narayan rao he learned it from a kerala pundit but could not get full lessons as this pundit left banglore on some personal problems and a real lose to astrology as B V raman could hav done more better as he find this man uses only jaimini and predicts marvellously .NOw there generation is declining and even in kerala i find all uses only vimshottarry dasa. so i left using it almost U r question is wrong though query is genuine - as lagna ardudha or any arudha can never fall in 6th 8th or 12th house which i find it-true .vrichika (scorpio) lagna arudha can never fall in midhun(gemini) regrds sunil nair om shreem mahalaxmai namah. If u give some inputs from ur's years of experience, will help me develop my understanding.
