Guest guest Posted April 22, 2007 Report Share Posted April 22, 2007 6 U.S. soldiers die on Saturday -- 5 in separate attacks BAGHDAD (CNN) -- Six U.S. soldiers died Saturday in and around Baghdad -- five of them in separate attacks and one from a non-combat-related cause -- according to the U.S. military. The attacks also left 11 soldiers wounded. A U.S. soldier from Task Force Marne was killed and two others were wounded during an attack on a forward operating base in southwest Baghdad, the U.S. military announced Sunday. Another soldier from Task Force Marne was killed and two were wounded when their dismounted patrol was struck by a roadside bomb 15 miles southwest of Baghdad. A Multi-National Division-Baghdad soldier died and three others were wounded when their vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb, followed by small arms fire, in southwestern Iraq. Another Multi-National Division-Baghdad soldier died and one was wounded when their combat security patrol was attacked with small arms fire in eastern Baghdad. A similar attack in western Baghdad killed one MND-B soldier and wounded three others. Another MND-B soldier died Saturday in a non-combat related incident that is under investigation, the military said. The number of U.S. military deaths in the Iraq war now totals 3,322.
