Sir, From 19th Dec i have entered to Moon-Venus-Rahu dasa for 3 months upto 19th March 07.Since in my 10th house Rahu is placed in kumbha rasi,will this dasa effect in my career & if so then how. This can also gives contacts with foreigners especially with Kumbha Lagna or Lagna with strong influence of Rahu. He is likely to cause following in his period: (1) Obstruction to profession/job (2) Servants/Followers forsaking native (3) Disease to knees Unless of course Rahu is alone in sustana and acts as shadow of the sustana lord. To say that Rahu is malefic in tenth bhava is very general and rather invalid. Because tenth bhava has many karakas, mainly every planet is well placed in tenth bhava (this is nicely described in Crux of Vedic Astrology by Sanjay Rath). Following Orissa Parampara we advise to see argala and karaka of bhavas, therefore Rahu in tenth can give bad guidance (argala on ninth bhava - JU/ and problem with fatherly figures - ninth bhava - SU/). In similar way we judge all other consequence of that position. Parasara in Kalachakra chapter says that Rahu in tenth gives pilgrimages tp holy shrines and this also usally is given as a remedy for that combination. Rahu in tenth will afflict the Surya, like the Ketu in tenth will afflict the Chandra, so just see Surya position in a chart. Usually when nodes are in Kendra it gives some unconventional traits of native and Rahu in tenth generally brings success and its dasa is very favourable (especially when strong like in this chart in Kumbha). Malefics debilitated in kendra usually give money, while strong they give high ideals which with other Yogas can inspire one to follow Moksha marga. How Rahu will affect us is really seen based on Arudha Pada and Karaka Lagna. In kona to Moon it gives depression and so on and so on... Only Rahu PD will allow to be more focused on career. Shukra is also in D3 in 12H with Ketu which shows that You are more focused on giving but because it lords tenth bhava it also can show work abroad or dealing with sellings. Now details are seen in D10: Rahu is in badhaksthana in D10 with Chandra. Sixth lord yuti shows job, while ninth shows some bad events related to contracts and boss. Rahu being in seventh will give stress due to that scenario. If job problems started from October of 2007 then February is quite potent to give job. In Rasi Shukra which is 10L is cursed, so until this is cleaned up there will be problem until OCT of 2008. Getting out is worshiping Trayambaka Jyotirlinga : Om Namah Shivaya Namah Trayambakaya (5 mala). Worshipping Ganesha would be also very beneficial (your Ishtadeva) as AK is cursed. From 5 of January it will be better period.
