Guest guest
Respected Sanjay ji, Namaste, My attempt for the assignment of Lesson# 3 is given below. Please favour me with your evaluation, comments and valuable guidance. With sincere regards.Shailesh LESSON# 3 : ASSIGNMENT Q1. Why do the five planets have lordship of two houses whereas the luminaries have ownership of one house only? Ans: As per the Jyotish system, Sun and Moon are the two rulers of this planetary system, Sun ruling the masculine elements and Moon ruling the feminine elements. Accordingly, the planetary system, which has been divided in to two equal halves, one half each being ruled by Sun and Moon. The other five planets are considered subservient to the two luminaries and have been allotted one house each in each of the two halves. The sequence of house allotment is in the order of their distance from earth. Thus mercury gets the first houses adjacent to Sun and Moon, next Venus, and so on, with Saturn being allotted the farthest, fifth, houses from Sun and Moon. Thus, the two luminaries get one house each whereas the other planets get two houses, one each in the solar, and lunar, halves. Q2. Attempt to explain the Mantra given inside the Bha Chakra. Ans: I am sorry, Guruji, but I am not able to decipher them – but guess that these are in some way related to the 4 way devision of Narayana/ universe/ quardants with Oum Houm Jum & Sah representing Sri Vishnu, Sri Bramha, Vasudeva and Sada Shiva respectively. Please enlighten us with your explanation. Q5. Derive the order of the weekdays from the order of the seven Dwipa. Is there any correlation between the speed of the planets and the seven Hora’s? Ans: The order of the 7 planets, starting from earth, is as follows: Moon, Mercury, Venus, Sun, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn. If we devide the planets in two groups, one comprising of planets preceding Sun (Moon, Mercury, Venus ) and the other of those succeeding the Sun (Mars, Jupiter, Saturn ) and take one planet each from both the groups, staring with Sun itself, we get the order of the week-days as SUNDAY (Sun), MONDAY (Moon – Gr. 1), TUESDAY (Mars, Gr. 2) , WEDNESDAY (Mer. – Gr. 1) , THURSDAY (Jup. – Gr. 2) , FRIDAY (Ven. – Gr. 1) & SATURDAY (Sat. – Gr 2) The order of the seven plantes, from slowest to the fastest (ie in the order of increasing velocity) is SAT, ]UP, MARS, SUN, VEN, MERC & MOON, ie in inverse order of their respective distance from earth. Same is the order of Horas, the first Hora of the day, commencing with the sunrise, belonging to the planet representing the day of the week. This order of 7 planets is repeated till the sunrise of the next day. (After completing 3 cycles – 21 planets, only the first three will get the next three horas, 22, 23 and 24th and therefore the fourth planet will be get the first hora of the next day – it is also the lord of the next weekday.) Q6. What are the Drisya and Adrisya signs? What do they imply? Ans: Due to the circular nature of the zodiac, the plane of the horizon divides the zodiac in to two halves, one which is above the horizon and the second which is below the horizon each half consisting of 6 rashis. The zodiac, with its 12 rashis revolves (apparently) around the earth in a constant motion. The rasi which is exactly at the horizon at the given time is taken as Lagna of that time and is considered as the first house, the remaining 11 rashis being numbered 2nd to 12th houses, sequentially. Thus, at any time, the first 6 rashis, counted from Lagna onward, are below the horizon and, therefore, are invisible to human beings located on the plane of earth/ horizon. The next 6 signs, 7th to 12th, are above the horizon, and are visible. The 6 rashis below the horizon are referred to as ADRISHYA (not visible) and those above the horizon are called DRISHYA (visible) rashis/ signs. The houses in the visible half give results in the material (visible) world whereas those in the invisible half give spiritual/ dharm related effects – results that can not be physically seen (ie are invisible).
