Namaste Brendan, and other Jyotisha,

 

I hope its not too late to jump in, and give my two cents regarding the

example chart that you had posted. Following are my observations regarding

this chart:

Lagna is Aries, 12:10:45

 

1. There is an extreme aggravation of both Pitta and Vata, with lagna

coming under fiery as well as airy energies. Given that lagna lord is

strongly placed in the lagna, it may be that whatever ailments this person

experiences, lasts over a long period of time, as the individual

(constitutionally) does not give in very easily.

 

2. As you said, Majja dhatu is ruled by Mars, and represents the bone

marrow and nervous tissue. I think that this is a hint as to what this

person might be suffering from. It would appear to me, that there is an

issue of affliction to the nervous tissue connecting to the brain. Either

this person has chronic neurasthenia, in which he cannot sleep, or there is

some kind of cancer relating to the blood such as Leukemia. Leukemia

patients do not last long, however, and so might not be the

affliction. Another possibility would diseases related to the nervous or

muscular system, such as Parkinson's disease or Multiple Sclerosis.

 

Sat Siri thought that the disease was stomach related, I think because of

Mercury's rulerships of the 6th, and coming under affliction. But I

believe the dosas involved have more to do with Vata imbalance than

anything else, thus putting Mercury's affliction more on the level of the

brain or nervous system.

 

Other Dasas that began around the time of Mercury's dasa were as

follows: Kalachakra dasa was Aquarius, starting in August of 1987, and

could very well move back 6 months due to birth time error. Anyway, Saturn

ruling the Deha rasi as well as dasa rasi Aquarius, is also a Vata planet,

and gets exasperated when in contact with fiery Mars. Saturn rules the

bones also, which may indicate that the pathogenesis is in the

marrow. Mercury in turn rules the jiva rasi, which should indicate that in

the final analysis, the disease manifests through the nervous tissue.

 

The Yogini dasa was that of Bhadra (Mercury), who again rules Jiva for this

chart, and occupies A8, and is also aspected by A6. In the D-1 Narayana

dasa, the dasa of Virgo started in 1986, and lasted for 7 years. This

again puts the onus of the disease process back onto Mercury, and thus I

believe that his disease afflicts the motor functions, namely his ability

to walk and move about properly. He may end up paralyzed due to extreme

derangement of Vata.

 

Anyway, these would be my prognosis, although not an expert in Ayurveda. I

will look forward to your revelation, Brendan, on the nature of this

person's affliction.
