Guest guest
If I may comment - I moved overseas during the dasa of Jupiter which is in the 12th house in a fixed sign. From Sri Lanka to Australia - this was quite a distance. Jup rules the 7th and is placed in the 12th. (alternatively, as my ascendant is on the edge, Jup rules the 6th and 9th). During Jupiter dasa, I travelled to UK, USA, Canada for work (Jup rules the 10th). So a fixed sign may not necessarily imply short distance travel. I have only venus and ketu in movable signs, and the move did not happen in either of their periods or sub-periods. - <lostinmotion <varahamihira > Friday, March 23, 2001 6:23 PM [Jaya Jagannath] Re: FOREIGN > > Hello Solai Kannnan, > > I have read that fixed sign in the 9th, 12th indicate travelling > closer to home or within country, whereas moveable signs far away, > and dual inbetween. > > Moveable signs give the most distant travel, as do planets placed in > these houses when they own moveable signs. Guest guest
Om Gurave NamahDear Nimmi, I fully agree with your observation. If Jupiter is the Lord of lagna or the 7th and is placed in the 12th house in a fixed sign, then it can indicate a long distance travel. Actually it shows travel to a more prosperous place. Australia and US can be considered more prosperous than australia and the decision will be one related to finance or spirituality ruled by Jupiter. My elder brother has Pisces with Guru in 12th in aquarius and in Venus - Jup he went to the USA. Your lagna must be the dual sign. Actually there is more to judging distances than just the sign placement of the planet concerned. The navamsa is also important and the lordship is also to be seen as the primary ruler of the cause of travel. Best Wishes Sanjay PS I also agree with Visti's point about Narayana Dasa. It is just too accuarate. - Nimmi Ragavan varahamihira Saturday, March 24, 2001 1:14 AM Re: [Jaya Jagannath] Re: FOREIGN If I may comment - I moved overseas during the dasa of Jupiter which is inthe 12th house in a fixed sign.
