Namaste Narayan,

It is not fraud, but, it is a mystic. Vaitheeswarankoil is one of the important places of Nadi reading. My understanding is: the great sages like Agasthia, had predicted approx. 1000 years ago, that Solai/Narayan will approach a particular astrologer, for the Nadi reading and his past and future will be 'such and such'. And all these things they engraved on the palm leaves. These had been copied or translated in Tamil from original Sanskrit versions. All these leaves where properties of certain family and only the descendents of the family have the rights to do the reading and this is the earning for these people. The leaves are archived on the basis of thumb impression. (That means, they even predicted the pattern of thumb impression)

In my case, they even casted my chart exactly from the readings. I know many of my relatives and friends had very accurate readings.

The drawbacks are:

1.Nobody knows exactly, how this system works and how were they predicted.

2.It covers past exhaustively, and future readings are less.

3. Present readers are not capable of interpreting the words correctly.

4.The readers must know Jyotish, but the present readers are not qualified Jyotisha.

5. Of course, as the custodian of all these leaves they should get some money. But, their remedial measures are discriminative, expensive and they indirectly threaten that in case if you do not perform the remedial measures, you have to face negative consequences. This is not acceptable to me.

I can go on like this. It is a good experience for every Jyotisha to experiment. Whoever, goes to India, please give a try.

I recently made a trip to temples in Trichy & Adjoining areas. One of the temples was Vaitheeswaran Koil. We went to a Nadi Astrologer. He took the thumb print and birth details(why???).Then he came out with a bunch of palm-leafs. Slowly he started reading aloud the scriptures which was in poetic-tamil.He said that I had twins...which is indeed correct...then went on to tell me that currently I was residing abroad...that was true too. Then he spelled out my name and my parents names.He also insisted on me taking a reading of past life. According to him...I was a Dr. in my past life in Kerala, and full of charity...but due to bad circle of friends I ruined a girls name, because of which her marriage broke up & she was mentally debilitated. So its because of her parents curse that some problems will crop up in this life, like delayed marriage & fathers ill-health. So he advised to do Nai-Deepam for 9 weeks to Brihaspati & some other remedial measures, further he added that the remedial measures should be done by someone other than the person or his family members, and then he volunteered to do it for Rs1500.Somehow I think this is all fraud.
