Guest guest
Dear Visti & Gauranga, It is the Vighati that determines the inner nature of the person. Gauranga's explanation has missed a point. The division by 9 is to enable the expulsion of multiples of 9. After dividing by 9, take the remainder which is the " Janma Vighati Graha " . Do all Jyotisha know their own Janma Vighati Graha? How is this planet placed in your chart? Is it exalted? Which Rasi/house is it placed in? Which navamsa and Dasamsa?..What does all this mean to me? Try answering these questions. Then who is the deity associated with that Graha? When I recite the beejakshara of the Graha does it not give me immence strength..as it I have reached the root of my own creation.. I have a prepared set of calculations in Excel sheets, which I sometimes forget and/or don't use. However whilst thinking through some basic theory of the Jamna Vighati and comparing to the calculations i find a major error. If the Jamna Vighati corresponds to the Nadiamsa range, then surely it must be fairly sensitive. Going over the rules Gauranga gives he states that: Taking the amount of Vighatis passed between sunrise and birthtime, dividing it by 9 and rounding up to the nearest integer will give the Jamna Vighati. Well this promises a good 3-5 minutes, before a change in Jamna Vighati! However going over what i've learnt in previous texts it made sense to do the following: Take the amount of Vighatis passed between Sunrise and Birthtime, roundup to the nearest integer, and remove multiples of 9. This will give a Jamna Vighati changing very often. The reason i took multiples of 9 was that, most texts use this principle for certain calculations and for ease some merely divide the integer by 9, and then multiply the remainder by 9. I used this on my own chart: Examples: Sunrise: 6:13 Birth: 6:21 This gives a 8 minute difference, i.e. 1/3rd ghatis passed. Multiplying this by 60 we get: 20 vighatis exactly, so no need to roundup. 20/9 = 2.22222. removing the excess 2 " rounds " allready passed we get: 0.2222. this should be multiplied by 9 which will give 2, which is Chandra being female. Now the last time I checked I was very male, so lets add 10 seconds to my birthtime. 6:21:10 - 6:13 = 8:10 minutes <=> 0,340278.. ghatis <=> 20,41666.. Vighatis. rounding this upto the nearest integer gives 21 Vighatis passed at birth. Now removing multiples of 9 gives 3, which is Mangal showing a male birth. Surely the error is clear. Best wishes, Visti.
