Note that there is a parivatana of Mars and Venus in Manoj’s chart. Mercury and Sun will give an RY. A parivatana maybe the most powerful yoga before any other, BUT will still give residual effects of that planet’s energy. In my case, I have 2 parivatana yogas. One is between Mercury and Jupiter in their own signs. Mercury’s debility maybe cancelled in as far as an RY is concerned, but it does not save me from frequent allergies to many types of foods – one of them is sweetcorn (yellow colour!)

 

Because Manoj requested for a BS, which is good for him too in this case and he was not going through Saturn’s MD but Mercury, though better explained in ND of Aries/Ar/Sc this period involves only Ketu in the 7th – red hot anger where attiquettes with colleagues and partner (spouse) is concerned. Though he maybe generous to a fault, he is also a penny pincher and pound foolish – the parivatana of Mars and Venus. The moolatikona lord of the 6th in the ascendant takes on the energy of Mars and he can be very logica and analysis maybe a snap, so too will be his temperament. In a fixed sign, consider it a permanent trait.

 

According to Garuda Purana, for a man who is pure, Blue Sapphire will work in a very dharmic manner. Lord Jagannatha carried this Blue Sapphire and whomsoever laid eyes on it will never “die” until Yama’s lament and since then, the gemstone is buried away in the blue hills with creepers covering it. A flawess and natural Blue Sapphire has so much life force to increase a person’s life. A natural beautiful Ruby has the life force to quell Ravana’s ravage, hence a Ruby can bring someone back on the “right path”.

From the Mahabharata and Harivamsa Purana: The gemstone from the Sun as we know is the Ruby/Red Corundum. Its special feature is wherever it remains whether in the house of a Vrisni or and Andhaka, it would produce vast amounts of gold. Through the influence of this jewel, rains would be timely and fear of diseases would vanish – Harivamsa Purana II.38.25.

By the shore of the ocean, King Satrajit obtained the Syamantaka Jewel from the Surya Deva. Out of love and affection, Satrajit gave this jewel to his brother, Prasenajit. With a floundering dynasty and the jewel round his neck, Prasenajit went out hunting one day and was killed by a lion and robbed of it by a bear, Jambavan(both of Pulastya’s lineage?). Lord Krsna retreived the jewel and returned it to King and the kingdom thrived for another 75 years.

 

Note the two: Long life span in the first where Blue Sapphire is concerned and a limited life span in the other, though the lineage was greatly increased. The story also gives the moral of the story: One man’s jewel is another man’s poison – this also answers queries regarding gemstone/jewel hand-me-down.

 

So you see, a gemstone is NEVER a quick fix answer. It helps one in identifying one’s psyche with HIS energy whom you implore to take abode in that particular gem so that HE may quell your woes. So please do not identify planets like Saturn’s energy to HIS. A graha’s energy is different to that of the Supreme.

I too was totally befuddled when I saw Manoj's chart. His 11th

house actually has a whopping 43 points in ashtakavarga. So his

Saturn is actually 6 bindus in a 43 point house which is simply

outstanding and rare. Saturn is unaspected, except Rasi dristi by

Jupiter, and is DK (Darakaraka) by Chara karakatwa.

 

The way I explain it (rationalize?) in my mind, I may be wrong, is

that Manoj's dharma has to be very strong. And that is exactly what

he said (he is vegetarian, never misses his prayers, never has

arguments with spouse etc etc). My guess is that when such a strong

Saturn is present, it does not actually deny the fruit of the house

it rules, but makes sure the fruits are reaped in true Saturnian

fashion i.e. persistence, austerity, penance etc. Gemstones would be

something like a sudden and quick fix, not in line with Saturn's

nature.. It would be interesting to know more about Manoj's

dad/relationship with dad? I would guess he would be a very

independent and successful man.

 

Anyway, thats just my 2c view, not supported by classics, just by

seeing a few charts here and there..
