I intuitively agree with what you say - I have long noticed that Sun

and Mercury seem to be good for me especially in terms of learning

and spirituality, but I would like to understand your logic a little

better. I feel strongly that a lot of problems center around the

Moon, so how would these gems solve these problems? Isnt the idea to

enhance powerful benefics to counter the effect of weaknesses in the

chart? In this case, Sun and Mercury dont seem to have anything

other than rasi dristi to Moon (in D-1).

 

Also, I do have one apprehension. I remember that once when I went

to India (I live in the US) my mother had some kind of havan

(homam?) done for my general well being, and I ended up wearing a

red thread on my right wrist. The immediate result (in my mind) was

that my dad seemed to keep getting in some trouble or the other.

First he fell down some stairs (he was 75 at the time). Then he fell

very sick and immediately after recovering he immediately had go in

for prostate surgery. He recovered from that and came to the US and

very soon again fell very sick. All the while I was wearing this red

thread, and my subconscious was repeatedly presenting me with dreams

of a dangerous red snake. Eventually he started having heart

problems (he has had 2 heart attacks in the past) and I finally had

a dream of this red snake pursuing me and suddenly turning into a

red thread that tightly bound me up from head to toe. I still didnt

take the hint. Next morning I got up and for some reason some dirty

water drain in the house overflowed and my hands and the red thread

got soiled while cleaning up the area, so I had to cut it. My father

virtually immediately recovered and was problem free for at least a

year after that..

 

Net result is - I somehow correlated this red thread and ceremony

with the Sun, I now forget the reasoning. Additionally, I remember

that during the same period I also had some deeply spiritual dreams

which repeatedly made me ask myself who I really am. Those dreams

also stopped after cutting the red thread.

 

So I am wary of " red " after that, even though I know it somehow

improves my spiritual understanding..

Mars to me is also " red " and as I said, I am quite wary but would

like to know your reasoning..
