JHora Ashtottari Calculations

Namaskar,

 

I have been listening to the Audio Lecture by Pt.Sanjay Rath on Dasa

calculations.

 

In this lecture, he teaches the calculation of " Tithi Ashtottari "

based on the balance of tithi and tithi lord.

I have tried this calculation for my chart and found it at variance

with what I found from JHORA software for Ashtottari dasa.

 

 

Kindly look through my calculations below and correct me if I went

wrong.

 

Birth data: 15 May 1979, 10:52:17, 14N26 , 79E58, IST (GMT+5:30)

 

Balance of tithi: 64.49%

Tithi: Krishna Chaturthi

Tithi Lord: Mercury

Dasa Period: 17 yrs

Balance Dasa Period: 0.6449 x 17 = 10yrs 11 months 17 days

 

From the above calculations:

Mercury dasa should last until 2 May 1990

 

JHORA calculations: 30 July 1980
