Dear Bharatji,

A very happy new year to you and all others who are reading this

post. Thanks very much for the explanation of your recommendations.

I have two additional questions and would be very grateful if you

could respond.

1) When you say Emerald is the right stone, are you taking into

account the fact that Emerald would give the results of the Sun, due

to Mercury's conjuction with the Sun in my chart? Similarly, would

Ruby give the results of Mercury?

 

2) In general, you seem to also be saying that wearing a gem for the

lord of a house which is a maraka house for some relation (father,

mother, children, siblings etc) will not bring about any negative

karma for them. If this is true, then say a person has huge problems

with his wife, and wears a gem to alleviate the problem. Lets say it

does alleviate the problem - then from the wife's point of view, she

was going through some bad karma, and then it suddenly stopped. How

would you explain this - since you say that wearing a gem cannot

affect other people's karma. I'm specifically interested in this

because in my case, the 5th house gem would automatically be the 2nd

from the 4th i.e. maraka for the mother.

account the fact that Emerald would give the results of the Sun, due

to Mercury's conjuction with the Sun in my chart? Similarly, would

Ruby give the results of Mercury?No, I am not. Mercury has its own nature and it does not exchange it. Two grahas can work for each other but do not change their inherent nature. Mercury would give its own results. Sun its own.

2) In general, you seem to also be saying that wearing a gem for the

with his wife, and wears a gem to alleviate the problem. Lets say it

from the 4th i.e. maraka for the mother.Given a similar logic one should not wear the lagna lord's gemstone since it is 12th for family and markesh for wife. The chart is of oneself and not of others. Others have their own charts. When we give a remedy or a gemstone to alleviate problems with wife or so, it is not to mould the wife but to seek protection from forces causing harm Or to bring internal change such that certain reactiveness, non-acceptance, etc. is countered, etc.. That is why we match charts for matchmaking too - such that two person combine in their natural energies towards positivity and prosperity. If only one chart was to dictate everything, then, no need for matching charts either. Many such examples can be given. Therefore, 5th Lord strengthening is not for causing harm to your mother but to strengthen dharma in you. Your mother's chart will dictate what gemstone is harmful for her to wear.

The dialogue between Shiva and Parvati from Jyotishanava Navanitam Ch 2 sloka 1

 

kArakagrahasaMyukto bhAvassklpaphalapradaH|

kArakagraharAshisthaH pApastatphalanAshaH||1||

 

The house that is occupied by a cencerned significator will yield limited results.

If there is a malefic planet, the indications concerning that house owned by its dispositor will be destroyed.

 

Implying that a malefic will destroy the karakatwa effects of its dispositor.

 

To understand what is meant by (functional) malefics, the next sloka is given:

sndhreshvarAri vyayapairyutAshceccokaprado mArakanAyakeShu||2

 

Planets that are related to the lords of the 9th and the 5th houses either by aspect or conjunction will prove auspicious

Grief and death will be the result if planets are conjoined with the lords of the 8th, 6th and 12th houses.

I have two additional questions and would be very grateful if you

could respond.

1) When you say Emerald is the right stone, are you taking into

account the fact that Emerald would give the results of the Sun, due

to Mercury's conjuction with the Sun in my chart? Similarly, would

Ruby give the results of Mercury?

 

2) In general, you seem to also be saying that wearing a gem for the

lord of a house which is a maraka house for some relation (father,

mother, children, siblings etc) will not bring about any negative

karma for them. If this is true, then say a person has huge problems

with his wife, and wears a gem to alleviate the problem. Lets say it

does alleviate the problem - then from the wife's point of view, she

was going through some bad karma, and then it suddenly stopped. How

would you explain this - since you say that wearing a gem cannot

affect other people's karma. I'm specifically interested in this

because in my case, the 5th house gem would automatically be the 2nd

from the 4th i.e. maraka for the mother.

Namaste Sri SweeOf all the combinations given for grief and of death, do they come to pass? No. Secondly, 8th lord effects of Mercury are greatly reduced since it is in the 5th house and in its own sign. The greater good capacity of Mercury becomes evident. I have already explained about yogi and dagdha rasi. Mercury is also the lord of the nakshatra of the lagna lord. No, I am not. Mercury has its own nature and it does not exchange it. Two grahas can work for each other but do not change their inherent nature. Mercury would give its own results. Sun its own.

Given a similar logic one should not wear the lagna lord's gemstone since it is 12th for family and markesh for wife. The chart is of oneself and not of others. Others have their own charts. When we give a remedy or a gemstone to alleviate problems with wife or so, it is not to mould the wife but to seek protection from forces causing harm Or to bring internal change such that certain reactiveness, non-acceptance, etc. is countered, etc.. That is why we match charts for matchmaking too - such that two person combine in their natural energies towards positivity and prosperity. If only one chart was to dictate everything, then, no need for matching charts either. Many such examples can be given. Therefore, 5th Lord strengthening is not for causing harm to your mother but to strengthen dharma in you. Your mother's chart will dictate what gemstone is harmful for her to wear.

Another sloka from the same chapter on the 5th House:

 

sutasya nAshaH kathitotra tatj~naiH subhairadR^iShTe sutabhe sutesho||114||

 

One well versed say that the 5th house and its lord should be bereft of benefic aspects for this loss.

 

In the same vein from the continuation of the first sloka as given, Mercury is the moolatrikona lord of the 8th conjoins lord of the 6th (diseases, enemies etc) and this same Mercury is in rashi drishti with two other malefics, Mars and Saturn. Mercury does not get beneficial aspects from Jupiter or Venus the natural benefics.

Besides bhakti and progeny, I am sure Sundeep finds it hard to express his real feelings to his wife and children.

 

This is how I was taught in the Iyer method: Iyer also takes into account of the moolatrikona stance of a planet and its no different from any other classics. His point is that a malefic placed in a malefic house or in dagdha rasi bodes well. This is also mentioned in the same book and the idea is based in VRY. The 5-9 yoga is considered to be a malefic yoga and will give anything but beneficial. Mercury besides being a functional malefic is also a natural malefic because of its conjunction with the Sun.

When we give a remedy or a gemstone to alleviate problems with wife or so, it is not to mould the wife but to seek protection from forces causing harm Or to bring internal change such that certain reactiveness, non-acceptance, etc. is countered, etc.. That is why we match charts for matchmaking too - such that two person combine in their natural energies towards positivity and prosperity. If only one chart was to dictate everything, then, no need for matching charts either. Many such examples can be given. Therefore, 5th Lord strengthening is not for causing harm to your mother but to strengthen dharma in you. Your mother's chart will dictate what gemstone is harmful for her to wear.

Namaste Sri SweeMooltrikona lordship is always more important, if the lord is not located in the 2nd house that it owns. Out of the 5th house and 8th house, 8th house is more malefic than the 5th. Here:1. Dagdha Rasi is in 8th - Positive

2. Dagdha Rasi is in the 5th - Negative. But lord of Dagdha Rasi in 5th so positive.3. Yuti of Yogi-Avayogi in 5th house - Positive4. Yuti of Yogi-Avayogi in Dagdha Rasi - mixed results5. Avayogi is the lagna lord - negative

6. Avayogi in Duplicate Yogi's nakshatra - mixed resultsMercury does not have graha drishti of malefics. Budha-Aditya yoga enlightens the 5th house. The harm that Mars does is also controlled through Mercury in this chart. The dasha lord is in Mercury's nakshatra. Purely on gemstones remedies, I think Emerald is a fine choice with Ruby. Other remedies for Mars and Saturn should be done but we'd not discuss them for now.Expression to wife is likely to improve after wearing an Emerald. Venus in the 6th usually gives issues with all kinds of expression. There is a barrier between what goes in the mind and what is expressed. Not going into that now, I still think Emerald and Ruby combo is nice. One well versed say that the 5th house and its lord should be bereft of benefic aspects for this loss.

 

In the same vein from the continuation of the first sloka as given, Mercury is the moolatrikona lord of the 8th conjoins lord of the 6th (diseases, enemies etc) and this same Mercury is in rashi drishti with two other malefics, Mars and Saturn. Mercury does not get beneficial aspects from Jupiter or Venus the natural benefics.

 

Besides bhakti and progeny, I am sure Sundeep finds it hard to express his real feelings to his wife and children.

 

This is how I was taught in the Iyer method: Iyer also takes into account of the moolatrikona stance of a planet and its no different from any other classics. His point is that a malefic placed in a malefic house or in dagdha rasi bodes well. This is also mentioned in the same book and the idea is based in VRY. The 5-9 yoga is considered to be a malefic yoga and will give anything but beneficial. Mercury besides being a functional malefic is also a natural malefic because of its conjunction with the Sun.
