Dear Swee,

 

I may not have been clear about my question.., I was refererring to a

PRINCIPLE not to any dasha.

 

The principle being cited in the case of Narasimha Rao (the now deceased

politician) where the coral,gemstone of Mars was prescrbed. This is a

bold move for a kanya lagna, as Mars is Ashtamesh (placed in the 10th

house), conjunct with Mercury. Coral-in this case would strenghten

Mercury, because of the Yuti.So the theory goes. It did work for N.Rao

however, as evidenced by his political power and accomplishments in the

National stage.

 

My question is this: would the same principle work in the case of

Parivartana, and if so which kind of parivartana: Rashi,Nakshatra,Bhava

lordship etc.

 

To make it clear:

 

Let's suppose that someone has kanya lagna and mars is in the 10th

(mithuna) and Mercury is in the 3rd house.(Vrshchika). Rashi

parivartana.By wearing a coral we would strenghten lagnesh.

 

Again let's suppose that we have in a chart Nakshatra parivartana. Mars

in Ashlesha, and mercury in Mrgashira. The lagna is the same: Kanya.

 

Will wearing a coral strengthen lagnesh?

 

I am familiar with the works of KP and his gem prescription as per

Nakshatra lordships and subs.(I must be either intellectually deficient,

retarded or too conservative-but I follow traditional Jyotish ,rather

than KP.)

The flip side of my story

 

According to Sanjay ji on VRY, there are 2 main ones: A dusthana lord in dusthana or a dusthana lord in kendra or trikona. The theory is based on this: If a negative (malefic) planet is in a kendra/trikona, indications maybe spoilt, but the planet bodes well in that position. However, without considering the dispositor’s friendship with the “visitors”, is this realistic assessment? If yes, then why do we bother to assess the lord of this house and that. Then nothing is bad. It is all in the mind. So wear a Pearl for ANY lagna, so the mind is always at rest.

 

Let’s take a passage from BPHS on the combiantions for Fame: If Moon is in 10th and 10th lord is in 2nd House (trines) and the ascendant lord is in ascendant. Similar results will accrue if the 11th lord is in the 10th and the 10th lord in strength is aspected by Jupiter. Fame comes if the 10th lord is in the 9th and ascendant lord is in the 10th and Moon is in the 5th from the ascendant.

 

In Mars mahadasa, PV Narasimha’s reign as PM lasted only one tenure and the Coral was not enough to sustain his position – Saturn is the natural planet for the 8th and these two are enemies. Hence he was always plagued with accusations of underhanded handouts. He was convicted of conspiring to buy votes in 1993 prior to the vote of “no confidence” Mars/Sat. He was badly defeated during Mars/Sun. He died durin g Rahu/Sat – paapa kartari. Wouldn’t Moon or Mercury do a better job coming to the rescue? Admittedly, his image and rise to fame – planet Sun, where ploitics is concerned (AL and GL,) is well protected with Guru in Sun’s sign aspecting the 4th and 8th.

These obstructions are obvious as the lagna lord and 10th lord is in yuti with the 8th (house of obstructions) and 12th lord (loss).

 

Oh, come on ;-) Should we retro fit and try and justify what another astrologer’s (I assume not Sanjay’s) advice is for the man?
