Why it is that you feel scared when you Pray to Lord Shiva? Do you think Lord Shiva's worship is smaller/less powerful/etc than any of the other devi-devatas? I had written something about you in a personal email to a friend which I cannot discuss here. Think again. Surya, lord of 7th, is in the Kendra. Jupiter, lord of 2nd is in the 7th. Deha cannot be harmed as Surya is protecting so what will be taken away when you pray to Lord Shiva... your sense of individuality. As soon as you pray, you shall feel that " you " are dying. Alongwith these thoughts shall come of doubts of your role in your life and society. Most aspirations and ambitions might die too. And this can be scary for most. Flow with this devotion, do not stop. This feeling of fear and the doubt that you do not proceed is associated with whom? Who is causing harm to Surya and Jupiter..check nakshatra linkages and u would see Rahu-Ketu axis responsible. Ma Durga Kavach will give you protection from this fear and increase your faith in flowing into the devotion of the Lord. YOU will remain.
