Guest guest
|om|Dear Jyotishas,I wonder as to what could be the interpretation of seeing an owl? Although I have seen them in pictures, this is the first time that I saw one in real life. I was with a friend in the playground at the time of sighting the owl. The owl alighted on the lamp post, looked at us two and flew away. Time of sighting was not noted down but very likely between 7 to 8 pm today. Although this may not portend anything significant, still I wonder. Also I have noted KN Rao asking many times as to why the owl is the vahana for Goddess Lakshmi. best regardsHari
Guest guest
|OM GURAVE NAMAH| Pranaam Hari ji, Permit me to share my understanding. What I have learnt from elders is that Uluka is the symol of ignorance. Ma Lakshmi made him her vahana to keep him under her wing. In other words Ma Lakshmi represents wealth of all kinds. She is not only the mother of material wealth, she is the mother of spiritual wealth(knowledge) as well. Prayer to her helps us conquer our ignorance. Guest guest
|| Hare Raama Krsna |||| Durgaa Saranam || Dear Hari-ji and Supriti-ji, namaskar. My grandmother used to say that particularly the white owl is considered Lakshmi-vaahana and if seen to sit on the roof of a house, the people of that house will earn a lot of money in coming future. Just wanted to pass on what I heard from grandma. Guest guest
Jaya Jagannatha Dear Sourav, Namaste For the past 20 years, we have 2 live-in barn Owls in an old palm tree by the swimming pool. Some times they will come and meet us at the electric gate (perched high atop the post) when we’ve been out visiting (or for a game of Bridge). I always wondered about the significance. But only their faces are white! I love Supriti’s interpretation though. Guest guest
|om|Dear Swee, Sourav, Supriti namasteThanks for your views. Well, today night, the same nimitta was repeated except that I saw four of them perched on the basketball frame and one of them was looking at me...appeared to be white-faced owls. Hmm... From what all you said, I wonder if this could be a pointer that I need to worship Goddess Lakshmi also given that Venus is also in 12th to karakamsa. But then I worship the istadevata as Lakshmi-Srinivasa daily. best regardsHariOn 11/16/06, Swee Chan <sweechan wrote: Jaya Jagannatha Dear Sourav, Namaste For the past 20 years, we have 2 live-in barn Owls in an old palm tree by the swimming pool. Guest guest
|| Hare Rama Krishna || Hari ji, Coincidently, I also saw an owl few days back and that too on a lamp post! So I thought I'll share with you what I have observed on earlier such occasions. Since last year I am sighting owls regularly. Before that I had never seen. The first time I saw, it was a full moon night. After that, suddenly I was studying Jyotish. Also I have always sighted the owls in the backyard of my house. And strangely, we have decided to sell our house. The buyer will be pulling down the whole structure and making multistorey building there. I keep feeling that this is 'end of life of the house' and before the event the owls are appearing again and again. To me, it definitely signifies change though I do not know if it is good or bad. Guest guest
|om|Dear Divya and Vijayadas Pradeep, namasteThanks for your views regarding this nimitta. Interestingly, my mother also told something similar to what Divya wrote i.e., some change of residence is usually indicated. Let us see. best regardsHariOn 11/17/06, Divya <touchbase_divya wrote: || Hare Rama Krishna || Hari ji, Coincidently, I also saw an owl few days back and that too on a lamp post!
