Guest guest
Late Sri. Santhanam observed that generally transit of Saturn/Jupiter on any ascdt has a beneficial effect on that ascdt. Please express ur views. Also For leo ascdts, Saturn and Jupiter both aspect the 10th and should herald a new horizon in the career. Please let me have valued opinion of brother astrologers. aditya

It usually brings about decision which you regret later specially career front. This is my observation. Overconfidence is a thing to look out for during this gochar.Businessmen overstrech their resourses, actors go overboard in their films, politicions think they can get away with anything. likewise for others. Guru gochar is called sukha gochar hence efffects will be positive as Late Santhanamji has avered. yours, vivek

This principle was propounded by Grant Lewi, a western jyotish. He divided the thirty odd years of Shani transit into four distinct phases for the four kendras. K.N.Rao used the combined transit of Guru and Shani to time events. The houses that are commonly aspected or occupied by them will be the focus house for that year. yours, vivek
Guest guest
| om gurave namah |Dear Vivek The point to be noted about the transit of Jupiter and Saturn is that they define the quality of time and hence the period of 60 years is the combines transit of Jupiter and Saturn over the signs and naksatra defining Jovian years. Saturn is negative in the sence that it throws up the karmas that have caused birth. Things like marriage, jobs and all other karmic indications come about during such a transit. People closely connected to the native may go away or die when Saturn comes to lagna and thereby compels or forces the person to become mature. You can call this good or bad, but the Rishi's advise that we should neither look at things as good or bad and should be euanimous about it as change is a way of life and the old give way to the new. So when saturn comes over a house or aspects a house or its lord then it damages the old, the infirm and weeds out the weakness by throwing them up. Often one realises that one has weaknesses by the time Saturn is ready to leave from the sign. Recenyly I was reading that the transit of Saturn in Pisces is bad for Kalinga or Orissa and realised that this was the 8th house transit of Saturn from Leo. Changes are welcome if there is a good or refreshing alternative and that is given by the aspect or conjunction of Jupiter. So while Saturn destroys the old order related to a bhava, Jupiter provides the *new alternative*. And together they bring about a refreshingly good change. Again Jupiter should not be in a BIG HURRY to do so and can end up making mistakes - the speed of Guru in transit becomes important in such cases. Interesting when we look at it in depth and realise that both Santanam and KNR were right in theor own ways and a lot depends on the depth of the analysis.Best wishes and warm regards,Sanjay RathPersonal: WebPages ¡ü Rath¡Çs Rhapsody SJC WebPages: Sri Jagannath Center ¡ü SJCERC ¡ü JIVAPublications: The Jyotish Digest ¡ü Sagittarius Publications---- sohamsa [sohamsa ] On Behalf Of VivekFriday, November 03, 2006 7:56 AMsohamsa Subject: Re: Saturn Transit in Ascdt sohamsa , Aditya Chakraborty <adityauc wrote:>> > --- Vivek <vivekvshetty wrote:> > > sohamsa , "adityauc"> > <adityauc@> wrote:> > >> > > Late Sri. Guest guest
Hare Ram Krishna. Pranaam Punditji, Before i could come under the SJC umbrella and get to understand the depth and breadth of Jyotish i followed the western method of seeing transits. Almost all of them used the normal method of aspects, oppossitions and conjunctions and its results. But this is where Late Grant Lewi differed. He gave great importance to Shani gochar on- a)the Lagna and its kendras b)Shani's own natal placement and its kendras c)Surya's natal placement and its kendras. He was not at all in favour of progressions etc used by other western Jyotish. he extensively used arabic parts (sahams) and transit of planets over them to predict events. the following link gives a short biographical sketch. http://lovestarz.com/lewi.html Writing in the 1930s-1940s, Grant Lewi was the author of two hugely popular books that introduced the general public to astrology. Still in print by Llewellyn, these gems of information and insight are Astrology for the Millions and Heaven Knows What. He received a Master's degree from Columbia University and taught English before becoming interested in astrology. For many years, he was editor of Horoscope Magazine. Today, he is still remembered for a feat that few of us would have the nerve to try. He predicted his own death at age 49 by a cerebral hemorrhage. He died exactly on the day predicted--July 15, 1951. It is said--and it may be true--that he had never been insured, but that when he saw his death coming, he took out a life insurance policy which helped to sustain his wife and three children. Genius anywhere has to be saluted and today through this forum i give him my Gratitude for having sustained me through those days, otherwise i would have given up Jyotish long back totally discouraged at its complexities. indebted forever, yours, vivek sohamsa , " Sanjay Rath " <sanjayrath wrote: > > > > > | om gurave namah | > Dear Vivek > > The point to be noted about the transit of Jupiter and Saturn is that they > define the quality of time and hence the period of 60 years is the combines > transit of Jupiter and Saturn over the signs and naksatra defining Jovian > years. What precisely do you mean by kendras versus the western terminology? The aspects in western astrology can only happen when there is a graha in semi-sextile ie 30 degrees from one another or sextile 60 degrees from each other or in quincunx, 150 degrees from each other. Else, there’s none to note. Notably so, Saturn is known for sorrowful events and squares are to denote difficulties. Too many trines in a chart makes an air head. I have a grand trine and two other minor trines which KP students utilise to anyalse my chart. Plueeeeeeeese, if I may. That’s what I can recall from 35 years ago wiped off and to re-learn so much more depth in jyotish. A lot of us have been down the same lane and led up the garden path to Uranus, Pluto, Neptune etc., Chorn and what next???? Guest guest
{Om Namo Narayanaya} Respected Sanjay ji, Namaskar. When Saturn was transiting Gemini, my lagna, I resigned my job of 21 years, a job/career that I was madly in love with, it was everything to me. Saturn was retro the day I resigned, incidentally the same day, same month, 29th of Nov, I had joined the Bank, 22 years earlier. I did regret the decision later, but seeing that it paved way for so many things waiting to happen , a Karmic relocation, hospitalisation etc I realised it was Nature's way of setting the imbalance right. The old was literally weeded out, everything dished out was brand new, including the life and lot more struggles, ones I am still grappling with. Waiting for the 10th lord, jupiter aspecting karma Bhava from Scorpio for yet another chance with my career- again a new one?( hopefully one with less trials and tribulations, cheating, frauds et al) Regards Nalini sohamsa , "Sanjay Rath" <sanjayrath wrote:>> > > > | om gurave namah |> Dear Vivek> > The point to be noted about the transit of Jupiter and Saturn is that they> define the quality of time and hence the period of 60 years is the combines> transit of Jupiter and Saturn over the signs and naksatra defining Jovian> years. Guest guest
Namaskaar Swee ji, Even Grant Lewi used the extra Saturnine planets, but that is not my point. The importance he gave to Shani transit on the 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th from natal- Asc, Sun and Saturn was very helpful for me when reading a chart, infact it still is. Especially from the reference point of the natal Ascendent. Shani when transiting from the Ascendent to the 4th is a bad phase as far as professional life is concerned. it is a downward slide. from the 4th to the 7th was a time of fresh start and building from the foundation, a phase of hard work. 7th house transit is emergence and fame, a time when the world acknowledges your work. 7th to the 10th is going to the peak and acheiving your ambition. 10th to the 1st is a phase when stabilising the acheivements should be done (this is where most people err and they try to push more upwards, fresh as they are from the success of the 10th house) the cycle repeats again. This is my understanding of Grant lewi's book " Astrology for the millions " Hope this helps. Iam not advocating use of Western methods, am just trying to show a technique that i found to be useful. There may be equivalent of this even in Jyotish but i am unaware of any. Thanking you for your response. yours, vivek sohamsa , Swee Chan <sweechan wrote: > > > Jaya Jagannatha > > Dear Vivek, > Namaste > > > On 11/3/06 5:47 PM, " Vivek " <vivekvshetty wrote: > > > > Hare Ram Krishna. > > Pranaam Punditji, > > Before i could come under the SJC umbrella and get to understand the > > depth and breadth of Jyotish i followed the western method of seeing > > transits. Guest guest
| om gurave namah |Dear Vivek I must acknowledge that there is some truth in what you write but that is not fully coorect also. The Digbala of planets is crucial in ones professional work as the deities ruling the directions (digbala) are also the deities of the dasamsa. Naturally the transit of Saturn in the 7th house can lead to a phase of great hard work. But to say that transit Saturn in 10th is good is blasphemous! My worst phase of professional life, to date, has been the transit of Saturn in the 10th house in Sagittarius. (Pisces Lagna). Saturn in lagna was truly horrible as my Gurudeva passed away and I had to wake up to the responsibility of the jyotish tradition. So I don't think all is hunkydory with Saturn in quadrants. The Nadi's say that Jupiter in quadants (transit) to arudha lagna is very good, and conversely Saturn should be trrible in quadrants to arudha. I think arudha transits are more important as this is what is tangible and is manifesting and affecting our day to day life. I have found that *rasi dristi* also works in transits. When Saturn in transit aspects any arudha by rasi dristi, it gets badly damaged while Guru brings about growth. The Sun trines an arudha (or its 7th whichever is stronger) to highlight it...try these and give me a feedback.Best wishes and warm regards,Sanjay RathPersonal: WebPages ¡Ü Rath¡¯s Rhapsody SJC WebPages: Sri Jagannath Center ¡Ü SJCERC ¡Ü JIVAPublications: The Jyotish Digest ¡Ü Sagittarius Publications---- sohamsa [sohamsa ] On Behalf Of VivekSunday, November 05, 2006 12:41 AMsohamsa Subject: Re: Saturn Transit in Ascdt Namaskaar Swee ji,Even Grant Lewi used the extra Saturnine planets, but that is not my point. The importance he gave to Shani transit on the 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th from natal- Asc, Sun and Saturn was very helpful for me when reading a chart, infact it still is.Especially from the reference point of the natal Ascendent.Shani when transiting from the Ascendent to the 4th is a bad phase as far as professional life is concerned. it is a downward slide.from the 4th to the 7th was a time of fresh start and building from the foundation, a phase of hard work.7th house transit is emergence and fame, a time when the world acknowledges your work.7th to the 10th is going to the peak and acheiving your ambition.10th to the 1st is a phase when stabilising the acheivements should be done (this is where most people err and they try to push more upwards, fresh as they are from the success of the 10th house)the cycle repeats again. This is my understanding of Grant lewi's book "Astrology for the millions"Hope this helps.Iam not advocating use of Western methods, am just trying to show a technique that i found to be useful. There may be equivalent of this even in Jyotish but i am unaware of any.Thanking you for your response.yours, vivek sohamsa , Swee Chan <sweechan wrote:>> > Jaya Jagannatha> > Dear Vivek,> Namaste> > > On 11/3/06 5:47 PM, "Vivek" <vivekvshetty wrote:> > > > Hare Ram Krishna.> > Pranaam Punditji,> > Before i could come under the SJC umbrella and get to understand the> > depth and breadth of Jyotish i followed the western method of seeing> > transits. Guest guest
Hare Ram Krishna. Pranaam Punditji, Grant Lewi divided the 30 years of Shani into four distinct phases. first to the fourth house Shani is below the horizon and going towards nadir hence the results he gave for this phase was negative. fourth house is the lowest point and from there Shani climbs up (a time for real hard work, still below the horizon till it reaches the seventh where it emerges or rises above the horizon and the world sees you. In other words recognition comes from peers for the hard work done and tangible results are seen. seventh to the tenth it is a dizzy climb to the zenith, Lewi termed this as a very positive phase of seven odd years. The world works for you. Shani transit from the tenth to the first is the evening phase when a person should stabilise his acheivements and gains becuse soon Shani will go below the horizon and the obscure phase will start again. Grant lewi dived the cycle of Shani Ascendent becomes the descendent due to Ketu effect as you have taught us and the seventh house becomes the sign of rise. It is his veiwpoint and i should admit it has some truth in it and modifying factors do count. i have noted your guide lines for transits in this as well as the previous post and will soon give you feedback. forever yours, vivek sohamsa , " Sanjay Rath " <sanjayrath wrote: > > > > > | om gurave namah | > Dear Vivek > > I must acknowledge that there is some truth in what you write but that is > not fully coorect also. > > The Digbala of planets is crucial in ones professional work as the deities > ruling the directions (digbala) are also the deities of the dasamsa. > Naturally the transit of Saturn in the 7th house can lead to a phase of > great hard work.
