{Om Namo Narayanaya}Dear Utpal ji, Hari ji,Namaskar.I have observed my maternal uncle, after Sankranthi-Pongal, visit his sisters(married) with Haldi,Kumkum, and other shagun and bless/seek blessings as applicable.

We are from Tamil Nadu, Thanjavur to be precise and I believe this is a common practice.RegardsNalini
