Learned List Members,

I would like to continue learning about eclipses based on the

information provided by Visti ji.

I am drawing the eclipse chart based on my natal chart and the

following information.

22 Sep 2006 - Annular Solar Eclipse

(Saros 144, umbral mag. 0.935, max. eclipse 11:40 UT

annular: 09:48:32 UT to 13:31:34 UT)

This time translates to the following in IST:

1. Start time - 15:18:32

2. Max eclipse - 17:40

3. End time - 20:01:34

Here the Start time lagna is Aquarius, my 12th house - A3 in transit

Maximum eclipse lagna - Pisces (my lagna) with Rahu in it.

End time lagna is Aries (Chandra lagna) with A11 in it.

You already said that Chandra will be benefitted and A11 (gains) will

be benefitted.

How will we read the effects on my 12th house (damage) and lagna

(destruction)?

Sorry, if you have already said that and I have not understood it.

Thank you.

Regards

Supriti

Dear Supriti,

Namaste

An anular eclipse is a partial eclipse, perhaps by 4 degrees. This throws Moon off by +/-1hour and is not considered. Do consider only the full eclipse. Note when the full eclipse happens in the town/city of birth. If it does not fall within the city boundary, you do not have to bother and that’s quite remote for my hometown.

For a full solar eclipse, consider the nakshatra it falls in and in your chart, look at the trines to it. There are many other factors to consider. You can read the lessons from Sanjay ji website http://srath.com/lessons/advanced/eclipse1.htm

http://srath.com/lessons/advanced/eclipse2.htm

The rest are from Brihat Samhita and Narada Purana/Samhita

Love,

Swee

Dear Swee ji,

From what I have been reading on the list, it seems like a pretty

controversial subject.

I have one question (which might be a reflection of my amateur

knowledge). How can we discount so many planets in conjunction in

gochar?

Thank you so much for replying to my email.

On another note, I have learnt so much from you about gemstones. The

science behind gemstones is amazing. It seems like another world I

did not know of has opened up.

Om Gurave Namah

Dear Supriti,

Namaste

I cannot comment, but all I can say is, my research a year ago was not conclusive. Perhaps it is best left to mundane astrology. In classics, there are scanty references on births during an eclipse and all point to the curse of Pitrs.

Before we endeavour the gochar, let’s say there is a graha posited in the 6th. Expect internal turmoil (our own worst enemy) which manifests as disease. During a gochar, some grahas who are friendly in this sign in the 6th will help – some will cause worse effects (it is like the uninvited quack’s wrong advice).

The aspects from Saturn (natural malefic) who casts its 3rd or 10th are the sideward looks – imagine him as the enemy who punches you from the side (kidney) and Mars’s 8th aspect! These two together will cause more harm as their “attacks” are worse when you least expect it. On top of that, look at the rashi drishti together with the other planets they afflict........More like an opening to death’s door especially if natal chart has afflicted luminaries. I’ll leave Rahu alone for now.

On the other hand, when you know an enemy is approaching (planets posited in a house/physical phenomena), it is easier to prepare for this as you are already expecting it – like the onset of a headache...

Sorry about the last brief details about the luminaries as time was short....I’m away (again) from tomorrow for 12 days.

Love,

Swee

|OM GURAVE NAMAH|Pranaam Swee ji,

I am so sorry I missed your posting before. Hope you had a nice trip.

I have one more question regarding planets the affect my health. That brings me to a question, I have Pisces Lagna, Ju in the 8th, debilitated in Navamsa in the 6th house. This is GK placed in 6th from AL. In such a case will you suggest wearing a yellow sapphire?

Thanks for engaging in this discussion.
