|OM GURAVE NAMAH|

Pranaam Guruji and List Members,

I had this urge to compare the teachings of two great masters who

believed that all paths lead to ONE GOD.

Please correct my faulty understanding.

Regards

Supriti

Sai Baba's Hindu followers consider him to be an avatar (incarnation)

of Shiva and Dattatreya.

His eleven famous sayings are:

No harm shall befall him who sets his foot on the soil of Shirdi.

He who cometh to My Samadhi, his sorrow and suffering shall cease.

Though I be no more in flesh and blood, I shall ever protect My

devotees.

Trust in Me and your prayer shall be answered.

Know that My Spirit is immortal. Know this for yourself.

Show unto Me he who sought refuge and been turned away.

In whatever faith men worship Me, even so do I render to them.

Not in vain is My Promise that I shall ever lighten your burden.

Knock, and the door shall open. Ask and ye shall be granted.

To him who surrenders unto Me totally I shall be ever indebted.

Blessed is he who has become one with Me.

The essence of his message is that everyone needs a Guru to stay on

the right path is life. If you stay on the right path in life, you

will be protected and blessed. He endorsed the sat-karma marg. He

did not endorse fasting as he believed that fasting would take his

bhaktas away from Karma

Shri Ramakrishna was an avatar of Vishnu. He endorsed the bhakti

marg/penance in the purest form.

Excerpted from the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna p.96

The Master Said:

" God and His glory. This universe is His glory.

People see His glory and forget everything.

They do not seek God, whose glory is this world.

All seek to enjoy 'woman and gold'.

But there is too much misery and worry in that. "

Excerpted from the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna p.94

Friday 22/9/06

The Master Said:

" The one goal of life is to cultivate love for God,

the love that the milkmaids, the milkmen,

and the cowherd boys of VrindAvan felt for Krishna.

When Krishna went away to MathurA, the cowherds roamed about

weeping bitterly because of their separation from Him. "
