Guest guest
||Hare Rama Krsna|| Dear Rishi, Namaskar The discussion really revolves around the problem of where to measure this ayanamsa from? Which star? Surya Siddhanta seems to elude to using a Raivatapaksha ayanamsa. This equates to the star Zeta Piscium, which (i was told) no longer can be relied upon due to its lacking visibility. Here the star Zeta Piscium is said to be the last degree of Pisces, and thus we can establish the other degrees of the zodiac therefrom. Today we use Chaitra-paksha ayanamsa, which is used to find the first degree of Aries using the star Spica. I may remember the names of the stars incorrectly, but i would glady accept any correction in this area. We in Jyotisha use it on a daily basis. It appears that there may be a clear mathematical solution for ayanamsha.Like now we accept without controversy that the present rate of precession or change of ayanamsha is 50.29 arcseconds/year. Similarly the available data suggests that the zero of the ayanamsha can be uniquely and physically calculated. And, interestingly, such calculations only enhance the credibility that ancient Jyotisha knowlewdge was based on accurate mathematical, astronomical basis. The sheer ability of the ancient seers to observe, symbolise and use the knowledge for practical use of humanity through jyotisha is astonishing. In the intervening period, knowledge got lost, but we al know this.My point is that ayanamsha has a unique mathematical or even simpler arithmetical solution. It can be calculated by just the swiss ephemeris tropical values without using any specific ayanamsha reference!regardsrishi , "Dhira Krsna BCS" <Dhira.Krsna.BCS wrote:>> Hare Rama Krsna!> > Dear Visti,> > namaskaar!> > >He did this from Lahiri Ayanamsa with a few corrections, as it was the> >old ephemeris books where the Moons degree was only listed for the day,> >and had to be calculated manually for the given time of the day.> > Do you have a chart written somewhere by Jagannath Rath with correct> predictions that I could see, which proves that he used Lahiri ayanamsa?> Sorry, my bratrikaraka Mars is conjunct Mars, so I need to see the full> picture to believe, quoting your words.> > If there is absolute proof for Lahiri ayanamsa, then I can cast off mine,> which I arrived to by research and learning.
