Hare Rama Krishna,Namaskaar Everyone,We Mumbaikars just love ganesha, today is the Visarjan day of the festival of our favorite deity and with a heavy heart we bid him farewell and thank him for having shared these eleven days with us. We also request him to come back soon next year.During this Ganesh festival there are three days when his Mother Gauri is also worshipped. During the ten day Ganesh Festival, Gauri Pooja is performed in many homes. Lord Ganesha's idol is brought home on Bhadrapada Shuddha Chaturthi(fourth day). The celebration of Gauri comes after three days, which is the eighth day of the month Bhadrapada. Some people worship & install Gauri with Lord Ganesha. Gauri is another name of Goddess Parvati. The invocation(Avahana) of Gauri is done on the Bhadrapada Shukla Ashtami. Which is the Anuradha nakshatra. Gauri is worshiped on Jyeshtha & immersed on the Mula asterism. In Maharashtra Gauri pooja is celebrated for these three days.Could more light be thrown on the connection between Gauri pooja and these three nakshatra because you get a gut feeling that this has Astrological significance. Ramanarayanji had spoken of the connection between Ganesha,Gauri and Vrischika in Mumbai conference during his presentation of Kalachakra dasa. My recollection is hazy. The involvment of Gandantar nakshatra for the worship of Gauri. Her worship in Chandra's debiliated rasi. All this points to something which i am not able to pin down.valuable feedback awaited.yours, vivek
