Guest guest
Dear Sanjay Rath, Visti and Scholars on the list, I am undergoing a very peculiar problem regarding considering marriage proposals for my daughter. As usual, the starting point is to look for Kuta agreements, then looking for mutual placement of planets, dasha results etc...In addition, I have come across the concept of Ghataka through Sanjay Rath's article, where Rasi-Tithi-Day Ghatakas are at least required to be avoided for marriage matters. Her birth details are as follows : Rasi : Capricorn Tithi : Poorna tithi (Full Moon day) Star : Dhanishta Lagna : Cancer Lagna Day : Thursday --------- Now, let me consider 2 premises to shortlist the proposals as follows : 01. Meet the Graha maitri which seems essential 02. Avoid mutual shashashtaka placement of Moon 03. Avoid Ghataka for Rasi-Tithi-Day from both the charts to each other. --------- In this case, the constraints figure as follows : A. Partner having Aries-Cancer-Scorpio Rasis are straightaway avoided, as either Graha maitri is not available or Moon is in mutual 6/8. B. Partner having Gemini Rasi are avoided due to mutual Moon in 6/8. C. Partner having Leo is avoided because of no Graha mairti, mutual Moon in 6/8 and Leo Rasi being Ghataka to Capricorn D. Partner having Pisces-Sagittarius Rasis are avoided, as Graha maitri is poor, as both Jup-Sat are neutral to each other. E. For Partners having Taurus, Virgo and Pisces Rasis, the Poorna tithi is avoided as it is the Ghataka for them, hence to be avoided. F. For Partners having Libra and Aquarius Rasi, the Thursday day is Ghataka to them, hence to be avoided Now, I am left with NO RASI from where, I could short-list the charts for marriage. This leaves me with the following questions : 01. What is the relevance of Ghataka in real terms ? Why the classics which talk for marital compatibility fundamentals have not considered this parameter ? 02. Should we compromise on the Graha maitri or on the Ghataka ? 03. If the Ghataka considerations are to be over-looked, what can be done to mitigate their associated evils ? The scholars may kindly participate liberally in educating me on this issue. This is a very generic level issue, concerning one and all. Thanks and regards, Vijay Kumar
