Please kindly permit us to understand the things better. 5H is ninth

house to 9H Vishnu sthana, which means probability for

transformation is 100% but need some catalyst such as Vatsalaya rasa

without knowing what the term Vastalayarasa.mean , I am unable to

get the essence amritha.

Having said thus the Lord turned Himself into an ordinary child in

their presence and remained silent.

can break all the fetters of Samsara in no time when one understands

Visnu as Krsna and takes him to his heart and to his head.

SARVAM GYANANANDAMAYAMAUM GURUBYO NAMAHDear Shri Deenadayalan,Namaste. The flow of water in the downward direction is powerful. Being a father your approach to your children is a downward flow of water and hence was considered as the natural flow. Vatsalya means the love exhibited by a father/mother towards his/her children. Everyone may easily understand that it is the Lord who is the guardian/father but there seems to be still a distance. The moment one identifies the connection/relationship with the lord the love flows automatically. Relationship gets you close to the Lord. 5th house/thithi is therefore important. The problem in identifying the connection/relationship can be easily solved when one listens to the glories of the Lord, when one sits in a satsang as often as possible. The marga begins from sravanam(listening).i can give you the general planetary mapping to these steps.1.Sravanam - Listening - Sun - as the more one

listens to the glories of the Lord the ego/ahankara drops down nay melts down.2.Kirtanam - Singing - Moon - The effect of the listening to the glories of the Lord opens out the dormant fire in you - Vac sakthi is automatically is kindled.3.Smaranam - Remembering - Mars - In this Mrityu loka on account of the martian tendencies we lose the temper easily - this results in affecting the power of memory - this gives a clue to the fact that we are all born with this quality of anger as we have no memories of the past is it not!!! Anger needs to be resolved after identifying the same.4.Pada Sevanam - worshipping the feet of the Lord - service unto the feet of the Lord - Buda - Bhoo sparsa is the first act. Buda represents the prithvi tatwa. Buda is the karaka for karma/career - 10th house. Buda is the lord of karana(panchanga element - born out of thithi) which deals with activities and vasanas. You may be aware of the act of drawing the feet from the door steps to

The act of offering the heart which opens out automatically on account of the flow of nectar/honey flowing within, to the Lord is on account of the blessings of Guru who is the one who can give sat buddhi(noble thoughts). Guru recognises the fact that nothing is beautiful or worth an appreciation unless

the same submits itself/or offered to the Lord. Jyotish vidya teaches this fact clearly. Venus is found exalted in the 12th which is the house of sacrifice. Yajna/offering/sacrificing is the real beauty.6.Vandanam - Recognising the all-supremacy of the Lord and adoring him with one-pointed devotion is Vandanam - Venus - All the energies of Kala/time dissipated in mundane/material pursuits is recognised as the life force(prana). This is then beneficially spent in adoration of the Almighty. Rejuvenation results on account of vandana.7.Dasyam - servitude - Sani - Pavanasuta Hanuman considers himself as Ramadas - it is the best way to overcome all the obstacles put forth by the 6th bhava(karaka Sani) - it can easily bestow you with all the siddhis - though this not the reason for following this marga - siddhi in real sense means accomplishing any and every task entrusted.8.Sakhyam - attitude of friendship - Rahu - it is very elusive and not easy to grasp -

The kishora leela is beyond words - He can steel and can identify himself as a thief and save his friends/playmates - In your readiness to play with the Lord you will in no time find your heart stolen(Rahu) - the pranks may be painful - you may feel cheated - you may start giving new definitions of dharma!!! -The Lord simply enjoys this game - The Lord likes this game of jivatma treating itself on par!!!! - He can treat Kaliya the dreadly serpent has his friend - For all those persons who have Rahu as the Atmakaraka they do not have Ketu in the 12th to give them moksha - does this mean bad!!?? No, Lords company is far superior than liberation that can be thought of. The Lord wilfully plays the role of a thief and the jiva is invited to play the role of a police - Life itself is made to appear as the hide and seek game. Lord is extremely merciful towards the opponent/playmate. He sees to it that the playmate wins the game ultimately!!!9.Atmanivedanam -

dedicating the life - Ketu - Nothing seems to be important rather exist without the Lord - From the headless plunge into the material activities when the illumination dawns to revert to go back, all the three legs which are folded and kept close to the tummy gets the needed energy and the sacred bull(Nandi)/Pranava raises up with dharmic vigour to move around majestically as a career of Lords breath. The life itself becomes auspicious.5th house deals with thithi which is of jala tatwa in nature. 9th from any house is the protector of that bhava. For 5th bhava it is the 1st bhava which protects. In other terms it is the jnana element of the indriya. 5th is tongue - the instrument while taste is lagna the jnana element of tongue. Lagna is skin while the jnana element of the same is 9th bhava which is the sense of touch. You may have seen certain Gurus do not allow you touch them as touch has direct connection to the dhi sakthi(lagna - seat of

Namaskar. I am delighted and educated to read your e-mail. Thank you for providing us this knowledge. May I ask a few doubts/thoughts in relation to this?

Mangal is called the bhumi-soota; You have given connection of Mangal to Smaranam. Do you think an alternative could be Pada-sevanam. Further Budha Astami Vrata is said to bring in us the lost memories of past life and can make a person a jatismara. So could there be a connection of Budha to Smaranam. I am seeking guidance from you by thinking aloud.

Dear Guru Ji,

Shri Ramnarayanan JI, Namaskar.

my joy knew no bounds. i found no word to express our feeling after

reading your reply. i have asked some thing for my hunger, You have

given a grand feast.

" Men may come and men may go but you and your knowledge will go on

for ever " .

we pray for you. Please kindly enlighten us like this, which will

boost our moral courage to lead an eternal life.

Your mail is not long but an eternal song, which has to sing by all.

You are not stopping our mental capacity is requesting you to give

some time to collect the essence.

All to the Almighty and to Her wishes.

After reading your reply, now i am able to understand the reason for

the method proposed/followed to worship Lord Vishnu (Bhuda deity)

that is from his feet. First glimpse should be at his feet (pada

sevanam).

my ability to understand is this much only but i will keep on

learning these eternal things with Guru ji's blessings to drink the

amritha.

of Lord Srikrsna during the janmaastami day with the firm faith that

the Lord would kindly grace. All the asuric tendencies associated

with Buda can be wiped out in one stroke if one takes to paduka

worship(Buda is debilitated in the 12th of kaala purusha) on

wednesdays. The attitude of serving the Lord, the attitude that all

the activities are for the Lord and the supreme resolution of brain

feet co-ordination for dedicating the same to the Lord can all

broadly be classified under pada-sevanam.

> 5.Archanam - offering flowers with salutations - Guru - Guru is

indeed the official priest - Flowers and beauty associated with them

come under the domain of Venus. The act of offering the heart which

opens out automatically on account of the flow of nectar/honey

flowing within, to the Lord is on account of the blessings of Guru

who is the one who can give sat buddhi(noble thoughts). Guru

recognises the fact that nothing is beautiful or worth an

appreciation unless the same submits itself/or offered to the Lord.

Jyotish vidya teaches this fact clearly. Venus is found exalted in

the 12th which is the house of sacrifice. Yajna/offering/sacrificing

is the real beauty.

> 6.Vandanam - Recognising the all-supremacy of the Lord and adoring

him with one-pointed devotion is Vandanam - Venus - All the energies

of Kala/time dissipated in mundane/material pursuits is recognised

as the life force(prana). This is then beneficially spent in

adoration of the Almighty. Rejuvenation results on account of

vandana.

> 7.Dasyam - servitude - Sani - Pavanasuta Hanuman considers himself

as Ramadas - it is the best way to overcome all the obstacles put

forth by the 6th bhava(karaka Sani) - it can easily bestow you with

all the siddhis - though this not the reason for following this

marga - siddhi in real sense means accomplishing any and every task

entrusted.

> 8.Sakhyam - attitude of friendship - Rahu - it is very elusive and

not easy to grasp - The kishora leela is beyond words - He can steel

and can identify himself as a thief and save his friends/playmates -

In your readiness to play with the Lord you will in no time find

your heart stolen(Rahu) - the pranks may be painful - you may feel

cheated - you may start giving new definitions of dharma!!! -The

Lord simply enjoys this game - The Lord likes this game of jivatma

treating itself on par!!!! - He can treat Kaliya the dreadly serpent

has his friend - For all those persons who have Rahu as the

Atmakaraka they do not have Ketu in the 12th to give them moksha -

does this mean bad!!?? No, Lords company is far superior than

liberation that can be thought of. The Lord wilfully plays the role

of a thief and the jiva is invited to play the role of a police -

Life itself is made to appear as the hide and seek game. Lord is

extremely merciful towards the opponent/playmate. He sees to

> 9.Atmanivedanam - dedicating the life - Ketu - Nothing seems to be

important rather exist without the Lord - From the headless plunge

into the material activities when the illumination dawns to revert

to go back, all the three legs which are folded and kept close to

the tummy gets the needed energy and the sacred bull(Nandi)/Pranava

raises up with dharmic vigour to move around majestically as a

career of Lords breath. The life itself becomes auspicious.

the 1st bhava which protects. In other terms it is the jnana element

seen certain Gurus do not allow you touch them as touch has direct

easily mapped to these houses.

Dear Ram,

Namaste. Very interesting post indeed on nava vidha bhakthi. I

really enjoyed reading it.

I always thought that the nava vidha bhakthis represent the

relationship of a child with its parent, right from inception.

1)Sravanam: Even when in the womb, the foetus listens to the words

of the parent.

2)Keerthanam: keertana is a way of calling God in order to attract

His attention, and when the baby cries, it is for the same purpose.

3)Smaranam: The baby memorises / remembers the face of the parent

and tries to imitate his/her mannerisms.

4)Pada sevanam: When the baby crawls around your feet..:--))

5)Archanam: When the baby starts uttering little words...they are

like mantras for a parent.

6)Vandanam: When the parent is the supreme person in the child's

life. The baby's world revolves only around the parent.

7) Daasyam: When the parent disciplines the child and tries to

instill good values, by words and occasionally by the stick too, if

necessary!!

8) Sakhyam: When the child grows into adolescence and the parent

becomes more of a friend.

9) Atma nivedanam: When the son/daughter themselves take on the

nurturing role of the parent. Parent to their offspring to parent to

their aged parents.

As you have very correctly assessed, the relationship between the

Bhagavan and Bhakta is very much like that of a parent and child, so

no wonder the nava vidha bhakthis are a manifestation of the

different facets of the evolving relationship between the parent and

the child.

These nine stages of relationship/maturity probably have some

relevance to the 9 month gestation period too!!
