Letter from Dr.Michael mamas

Hello Everyone,

All of the conflict in the world today is difficult to witness. The recent bombings in Mumbai, where I stayed recently, sadden me as does the heartache so many are needlessly experiencing from the terror attacks all over the world.

Every year, for several years now, I have been emphasizing how critical the times are. The world desperately needs an infusion of purity. I feel responsible. I feel that way because we have the ability to respond. Scientific documentation confirms that prayer has a positive influence on the environment. Additional scientific evidence confirms that the positive influence of groups transcending together is much, much greater than conventional prayer. Meditation, as it is said, is the highest form of prayer.

It will be 12 years this August since the school was founded. It seems I have declared every year to be a critical year. I have done so because it is true. For proof, one needed to look no further than the evening news. These days I feel like I have been fighting a war—a war against the stress and impurity in our world. I stand tattered and torn on the battlefield, but still brandishing the sword of human decency that I know dwells full well in the depth of everyone’s heart. Our battle is to free it in all men and women. No one can do this alone. I am and will be eternally grateful to all of you for joining me in the effort to help our world’s children, mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers. We have the technology. How can we not do everything in our power to help? That is a life worth living.

The community is ready to go. Roads, the gate, and infrastructure are in. I implore all of you who are able to come forward. Build a home. Put up a spec house. Rent an apartment or a room. Be together. Meditate together. The time is now. If only a small group would immediately step forward, the community will happen.

In these critical times, every year I have done what I can and I will never stop. But let there be no mistake. Our planet is in the midst of World War III. It is the most heinous of wars. There are no clear cut battlefields. Children are just as much the targets as anyone else. Struggling and exhausted on the battlefield, I look over my shoulder to you. We can do this. I can assure you of that. Whether or not we actually do it, is up to you. There is no time to waste. We must act now and act decisively.

Not only do we have the technology, but our efforts have brought the pragmatics into place: Mount Soma is ready to go. Please do what you can. If you are unable to move to Mount Soma, perhaps you could build a home or duplex and rent it to others. If you begin construction within the month, your home should be under roof by Christmas. If you would like to rent a room or apartment, please let us know. I am asking that we have at least six homes completed by Christmas. If you build it, people will come.

I say again, the time is critical. It has become more so every year. This planet can be healed. But we must all act or things will only get worse and worse. Things can still be turned around. Let us all come together while the window of opportunity is still open.

I hope you come to the retreat. Please, with all speed, make Mount Soma your home.
