Dear Sh. Sanjay Rath / Visti,

I have a few doubts on the selection of Ishta Grha and Ishta Devata. The doubts could be of very trivial nature, but I can not resist asking for clarifications.

01. As per sutras, we approach to find Ishta Devata from the deity of the planet in the 12th house from Karakamsha. If there is a single planet, we straightaway take it as a Ishta Graha and take its deity as Ishta Graha. Is it OK till now ?

02. If there are sign aspects of planets, does the form of deity changes ?

03. If there are 2 or more planets in the 12th house, what should we do ?

04. If the house is blank, we consider its lord which is the Ishta Grha and the deity is the Ishta devata. Is it OK till now ?

05. Do we have to see the variations of the form of deity depending on the conjunction of the Ishta Graha and the sign aspects on it ?

06. Is there any influence of the AK to be considered, such as its basic nature, conjunctions or its sign aspects ?

07. Is there any planetary aspect to be considered on the Ishta Graha ?

Kindly consider following 2 examples :

Example-01 :

Moon is AK and placed in Leo in D-9 with Ketu, hence Leo is the Karakamsha. Let 12th house - Cancer has exalted Jupiter. Let the sign aspect of Mars from Taurus and Rahu from Aquarius fall on Jupiter. What would be the Ishta Devata ?

Example-02 :

Sun is AK and placed in Pisces in D-9, hence Karakamsha is Pisces. Sun is conjunct with Saturn and Rahu in Pisces. There is no sign aspect. What would be the Ishta devata ?

Thanks in advance,

Vijay Kumar
