The Atmakaraka article says that the dasha of AK if malefic is not good rather its bad .......but i have seen a person with Mars as AK exalted in 10th House ,getting huge success in Mars period...........How do we interpret this ? Am not sure what to believe....Sanjay might be correct and there would be some condition that makes the period of AK beneficial. If AK Mars rules the lagna and is exalted in the 10th, then foundational rules of interpretation say that the dasa period of Mars has to be a good. This would further be the case since Mars occupies the 7th from AL too. But the 10th house has to do with career, status, and position, yet the AK is the planet of the Atma. So, behind the veil of great career success, the native has to be suffering on some levels, while the extent to which these would apply and in which areas, must be seen by the malefic aspects that Mars receives in the chart. But the general rule still holds - the dasa period of a malefic AK will bring suffering to the native, even though the external affairs being enjoyed simultaneously may not make this fact so obvious to others. Even the dasa period of the benefic AK, or the one associated with it, will bring suffering to the native if malefic aspects intervene. Case in point is the chart of ex-president Bill Clinton. You will note in his chart ([the Cancer rising chart], that 9th lord Jupiter is in the AL, while the AK Moon rules the 10th therefrom, and is in the 10th from lagna. The mutual aspects of 9th lord Jupiter and AK Moon made for a fantastic Raja-yoga, such that he was elected president of the US twice following the onset of the Jupiter Vimsottari dasa in 1991. AK Moon was vital to his success during this period, but then again, he suffered greatly due to the attacks of his enemies and their making hay of his personal shortcomings. Note the aspects of Ketu, Sun, Mars, and Rahu onto his Moon. So in this instance the AK Moon by way of Jupiter's dasa and Raja-yoga, made him very powerful and famous, yet he suffered more during that period than at any other time in life due to malefics aspecting the AK. Other examples can be found, but I think the above illustrates the principle that you have asked about. An exalted planet in 10th, especially Mars & Sun who have digbala in 10th shall cause the 10th house indications to flourish during its dasa/antardasa. I am Aries lagna ,Mercury AK in 9th house and Ketu with it..Mercury is Vargottama too.. My Mercury dasha was excellent.. My impression has been that, yoga graha conjunction makes the nodes benefic, and it does not then hamper the yoga graha effects. The antar of AK hard, but good. However using another appropriate Udu dasa, the period of Istha and antar of AK was simply, hell. Guest guest Posted July 4, 2006 Report Share Posted July 4, 2006 Amit, I Read the Atmakaraka query in archives too and understand that if node cojoins any planet ,it exchanges the property of that particular planet .What if the node cojoins 2 planets ........Will it exchange properties with the most benefic one or the one which is more closer to it in terms of degrees etc. Going by this rule say a node conjoins a maraka than will it mean that node becomes the Maraka ? Also wanted to know if this is a dictum or there is some logic behind nodes exchanging properties with the conjoining planet.Will the motion of conjoining planet (retrograde etc) or the placement of Node in front or behiend the conjoining planet effect this rule.
