Hello Willa, I am giving below birth details of a person who suffered a serious stroke in 1991/1992 Exact date is not known now. He was having Guru dasa Ketu bhukti then. Interesting thing you find is , he has Guru in Lagna.!! Male 1st Feb 1946 12.20 AM Rajkot (India) Tatvam-Asi "Willa Keizer, C.C.H." <willa wrote: Om Namah Shivaya, Dear Robert, Narasimha, and Dr. Varma, I have learned from Sanjayji to look at Shani's transit in Astakavarga, as well as Vimsottari dasa entry charts for transits to time serious chronic illnesses such as cancer/autoimmune disorders. These work well for these type of cases, but the entry charts only work at the maha dasa level for some reason. I think that Tithi Pravesh may be helpful for sudden serious events that happen rarely or only once in a person's life, like a stroke or Robert's injury. My studies are showing that medical Jyotish is just as complex as the human body/mind itself. Take stroke, for

example. It starts as a clot in a blood vessel, which cuts off blood flow/oxygen to the brain, causing brain injury. This can lead to loss of speech, cognition, or paralyses in any part of the body. So how would it show up in a chart? Blood vessel, brain injury, lack of speech? We'd have to look at a bunch of charts to get a clue, and even then, I doubt that there will be one simple easy thing that all the charts have in common. Perhaps Dr. Varma could help us here in gathering some good charts for study -- Astro Databank shows 113 charts of stroke victims with birth data rated A or AA, but its much better to use charts of patients we are actually working with. The data is cleaner, more detailed and accurate and working with charts of people we have a connection withis much better for me. Anyway that's my preference. Dr. Varma, we spoke a bit about this in Delhi-- maybe

now is a good time for us to organize some real research into this area. What do you think? Blessings, Willa

Namaste Tattvamasi and Willa,

Jupiter in lagna is not always a savior. I said that in Sanjay's case as Jupiter is his lagna lord.

Fopr this native, Jupiter is the 3rd and 6th lord and quite capable of giving injuries, ill-health etc. He is the 64th navamsa lord too. His situation in lagna is not good.

In D-6 (chart of diseases) also, Jupiter joins Rahu and Ketu in the 12th house. I can easily believe that Jupiter-Ketu caused health problems.

Willa, I echo Robert's thought regarding using dasa pravesha chakras (DPC) with nakshatra dasas such as Vimsottari dasa. If the birthtime is off by 1 minute, DPC time can vary by as much as 5 DAYS. Forget lagna, you cannot even be sure of Moonsign in a DPC.

On the other hand, DPC of rasi dasas such as Narayana dasa and Shoola dasa is very reliable.

IMHO, all you people who are into medical astrology will do well to give prominence to Nakshatra Pravesha instead of (or, in addition to) Tithi Pravesha. Tithi is of jala tattva - water. TP charts throw light on the overall sense of well-being during a year. While major health issues do have a bearing on that, health disturbances are better shown by air rather than water. Nakshatras are the airy aspect of panchanga, while tithis are the watery aspect. Nakshatra pravesha is good for seeing health issues.

Narasimha
