Guest guest
Dear Govind, I beg to differ and have a slightly different view. If my view is found silly, please ignore it. If it is found useful, please benefit from it. As said, Venus is in 12th from AK Mars, however, he has kartari from exalted Mars and debilitated Moon. So, I consider this Venus to be Venus who is with Moon and Mars. Mars dominates over Moon and Venus. Mars can show Hanumaan. Mars with Moon and Venus shows "Bhakta Hanumaan" (as opposed to "Veera Hanumaan"), who does tapas from Rama. Worship the form of Hanumaan who is a great bhakta of Raama. When you think of Hanumaan, do not emphasize on his valour or bravery or strength. Instead, think of his vinaya (humility), daasa bhaava (sense of being a servant) and bhakti (devotion) and marvel at those qualities. You will then develop those qualities too. Actually, you are quite a spiritual person to start with and may not really need advice from someone like me. In any case, you will make tremendous progress in this life in the spiritual path. Guest guest
|| Om Gurave Namah || Dear Sarbaniji, Normally Venus in 12th from Ak in Navamsa throws me off!. I would be happy if you could provide some suggestions. The other suggestion about Hrishikesha I liked. In fact I would also prefer Jagannatha with Subhadra. Ofcourse MahaLakshmi can also be recommended. When recommending Vishnu avatars, Normally I prefer the Avatars which Parashara says have purna Vishnu Amsha i.e Varaha, Narasimha, Rama and Krishna. Anyway Venus in 12th from Ak, Indicates that the person may need to overcome some sexuality and Passion, Infact if we read Parasurama's Story thats exactly what we learn from Lord Parsurama's Vishnu Avatar story. So even if I dont get a specific mantra I would still recommend to read the story of Parasurama to get idea about Venus's Ishta. Looking forward for your recommendations Warm Regards Sanjay P sohamsa , " Sarbani Sarkar " <sarbani wrote: > > Dear Sanjayp, > > Just a couple of queries: Normally Parasurama, like Brahma, is not > worshipped. Guest guest
Dear Sarbani, On 6/14/06, Sarbani Sarkar <sarbani wrote: > Just a couple of queries: Normally Parasurama, like Brahma, is not worshipped. > One never comes across mantras and worship for Parasurama as well. Never is a strong word. The details of Parashrama puja are found in Kerala area texts, which is no surprise, since the very creation of Kerala is said to be due to a boon Parashurama received from Varuna and Bhudevi. Also, as part of some shanti-karmas, Parashurama is worshipped as one of the seven immortal beings. ajit
Guest guest
Dear Ajit and Sarbani, Correct. And, he is waiting to become one of the Saptarshis (seven great maharshis) in the next cycle, just as Lord Hanumaan is waiting to become the next Brahma. Having said that, Mahalakshmi recommended by Maharshi Parasara is perhaps a safer bet for Venus than Parasurama. Guest guest
Dear Narasimha, > Correct. And, he is waiting to become one of the Saptarshis (seven great maharshis) in the next cycle, just as Lord Hanumaan is waiting to become the next Brahma. I thought the seven chiranjeevis (including hanuman & parashurama) will become the next saptarishis, and thus, in the next cycle, hanuman will become a saptarishi (and not brahma). > Having said that, Mahalakshmi recommended by Maharshi Parasara is perhaps a safer bet for Venus than Parasurama. I think so too. In addition, the parashurama mantras have a krura-rupa, and should probably be used carefully (like pratyangira/bagalamukhi). Generally, sowmya sattwic mantras are probably a safer bet. Even in the sudarshana moola mantra, I much prefer the use of " shobhana-karaaya " instead of " kshobhana-haraaya " , even though both variations exist. ajit
Guest guest
Dear Ajit, I know that he was responsible for creating Kerala, so I am not surprised to learn that it exists in the Kerala texts. So if I may reverse the question and ask, why didn't such practise spread or got obliterated? I cannot say that it is region specific like the way Kali or Durga worship is in Bengal. It has a slight different connotation when we say that we don't find Parasuram mantras in scriptural texts in circulation. If I stretch it further, why don't we commonly find Parasuram mantra given? Is it the same way that we don't dole out Bagalamukhi mantra to all and sundry? On another note, I will soon reply to your private mail on Kali and the gunas. I could not reply to you earlier, as the moment we reached Serbia, Sanjayji was down with a sudden and terrible fever and continuous and excruciating headache. He is marginally better since today, nit only because of huge amounts of toxic and strong medicines but I would like to think also because the heavy Mrtyunjaya Mantra chanted by a group of Serbian students and Visti holding his hand, while he writhed in pain thinking his head was going to burst. But things are under control now and will hopefully be able to answer mails again. Guest guest
|| Hare Rama Krishna || Namaste Ajit, I second you. In Trivandrum, there is a beautiful and very old Parshuram temple too. I am sure there are other parts of Kerala (and possibly, India) where Parshuram is worshipped. May Sri Vishnu bless us all, Reema. sohamsa , " Ajit Krishnan " <ajit.krishnan wrote: > > Dear Sarbani, > > On 6/14/06, Sarbani Sarkar <sarbani wrote: > > > Just a couple of queries: Normally Parasurama, like Brahma, is not worshipped. > One never comes across mantras and worship for Parasurama as well. > > Never is a strong word.
