Guest guest
The recent happenings related to members of the Bharatiya Janata Party or their kith and kin have left us in a state of deep shock and sorrow. It is not that death has ever been a worry for someone who see's suffering and death in charts all the time, but the way things are going and the manner in which it is happening is the cause of worry. Firstly, the BJP is the other alternative to the Congress and Janata Party which has provided governance to India thereby reinforcing the essential values of a multiparty democratic political set up in India. Whether we agree with this multiparty system is another issue as it's inherent backlash is the formation of regional parties based on ethnic groups like language or culture (Shiv Sena in Maharashtra, BJD in Orissa, Telugu Desam in Andhra or the DMK/AIADMK in Tamil Nadu, Bodo's in Assam, Akali Dal in Punjab etc). And these ethnic parties are forced due to their formation only to think for the welfare of their supporters and local regions instead of India as a whole thereby having a tendency to divide India back into the multi-political kingdoms that is was before this its formation. Secondly, the BJP has brought back some sort of a 'proud to be Indian' feeling into the people due to reinforcement of their cultural and vedic roots in various ways but due to its support base had been forced to take some postures which can be viewed as supporting the majority hindu's and suspicious of some of the minority groups. Sri L.K.Advani had made a sincere attempt to change this but has only been misunderstood and strongly put down by his own supporters in the RSS and the party itself. Fact remains that Muhammad Ali Jinnah never gave in writing, even once that India should be partitioned and kept his demand for Pakistan on top agenda to counter Nehru for the top post of first Prime Minister of India. That Nehru did not even have the support of one region for this position is also well known and how Sardar Patel and Maulana Azad were sidetracked by Gandhi to gift this to Nehru. Its all politics and fair in that sense, and maybe we Indians are not yet ready to read the truth without color. In the BJP Chart, the tenth lord Jupiter is under curse from Mars, Rahu and Saturn and is in marana karaka sthana in the third house showing that every attempt to project a peaceful (Jupiter) image or take to the peaceful path will be fruitless. The party will be viewed as reactionary and strong in arms against their opposition. The BJP was the one who made India a nuclear force and brought it into the world map. This yoga is also dangerous for its leaders as Jupiter is the 10th lord and as the 7th lord threatens its partners as well. Since this is in Leo (Sun-Kalinga/Orissa), the only state/partner which has not been affected is the Bharatiya Janata Dal of Naveen Patnaik in Orissa. More so as there is a aparivartana Yoga with the Sun having digbala in the 10th house. All other partners are today in a state of disarray. Bengal (Pisces) is completely smashed with the left parties (Saturn) having come to great power led by Mercury (Buddhadeb Bhattacharya) who has routed Mamta Bannerjee (Mars). In Punjab the Akali dal is fighting to stay alive as the Congress led by the ex-Raja of Patiala (who was scorned by the BJP when he wanted to join them) is bulldozing its citadel. In Maharashtra which was the strong area of the Shiv Sena and the RSS, the Congress with the support of the strongman Sharad Pawar (Mercury) has provided complete check and Bal thackeray the strong belligerant lion suffered personal setbacks when car accidents claimed his dear ones. In such a scenario, Pramod Mahajan, for all his unpopularity with some sections due to his politics, was much needed as he was the man Friday who kept the coalitions alive. Infact he was a strong believer that given the present scenario of a completely divided Indian population on caste and religion grounds, the only way the BJP could make it to power was through the poltics of coalitions and partnerships. His death will be a big blow to the BJP in that they have lost their 'all-rounder'. To add to the woes, the BJP really does not know what to say about the way he died - shot by a younger brother who is 'not telling anything about why he did so' and all kinds of rumors are doing their way about the happenings inside the BJP. Kicking the leaders (Jupiter is 10th lord in curse) People still remember the threatening words of Madan Lal Khurana about exposing the 'sex scandals' inside BJP! Khurana was the first BJP Chief Minister in India and the one who kept the flag flying for many years till the BJP was able to organise itself. http://www.outlookindia.com/pti_news.asp?id=380688 In addition to Khurana, Uma Bharati who led the BJP in getting Madhya Pradesh back has also been kicked out and these 'soccer penalties' started with the iron man Kalyan Singh of Uttar Pradesh. The BJP needs a strong Jupiter who will keep the flock together and I don't see this happening before 2008.http://www.hinduonnet.com/2004/03/05/stories/2004030506800400.htm (ref) Now about the 'kith and kin'. The BJP has always had the reputation of being strong supporters of Hindu sentiments and culture. And now when Mahajan's secretary Moitra and son Rahul Mahajan were supposed to carry the ashes of Pramod Mahajan to the holy Ganges, they took some champagne (alcohol) and also did some drugs and was already on depressants and Moitra died before reaching the hospital as Rahul battles for life. The question arising is what values have these people, who profess to uphold hindutva, inculcated in their own children.http://in.news./rahulmahajan.html Yes, I am sad as I thought that the BJP was a good alternative, but I am very convinced that India needs a two party democracy if it has to stay as one nation without another partition as even people like Manmohan Singh, given the political expediency, resort to caste based gimmicks for vote banks (unbelievable but true - yes, Manmohan Singh also!). In fact the latest 27% quota for OBC is an endorsement of V.P.Singh. Oh God! If only Rajiv Gandhi was alive today. He alone was that face of Indian politics which has been above these caste, religion gimmicks and he alone was the hope of a united, strong and most modern India. It is not important from which party he comes, but can India hope for another Rajiv Gandhi? --Posted by Pt.Sanjay Rath to Rath's Rhapsody at 6/03/2006 10:02:00 AM
