Dear Sarbani-ji,

Namaskar. Happy to be of service. I have cast a prasna chart for your query and analysed below. It would be of opportunity to me if you and other Gurujana's can comment on the analysis and provide pointers.

Prasna: The query is about missing books with class notes. The query can be put in simple terms as "Where are my missing books?"

Prasna Chart Data: May 20, 2006, 11:23:52 p.m. (4 hrs WoGMT) 76W52'33", 39N00'16" (Maryland, USA)

Brief Analysis:

1. Prasna Lagna is Dhanus 17deg43'45.93"; Navamsa rising is Kanya with Meena rasi in the trines or 7th confirming that analysis can be given in this case. You mentioned that Rahu is transiting your Lagna rasi and hence your Lagna is in Meena.

2. Navamsa Lagna is stronger than Rasi Lagna as Rahu is posited and aspected by Guru and Budha by rasi drishti. Hence the article's description can be related to Kanya rasi. Being rasi owned by Budha, the articles can be related to learning, writing etc. Kanya rasi with Rahu in it indicates article is lustreless (not shiny) and of variegated color.

3. In Prasna Chart, 7L is placed in 6th house and Shani is in strength in the 8th house indicating chor-prasna or question about theft of article (i.e. querrant has doubts about loss being due to theft). This is further confirmed by the fact that (a) 6th lord Shukra and 12th lord Mangal are in kendras. (b) Grahas in the kendras and 6H (here Budha) is/are in Meena navamsa. The predominance of 6, 8 and 12-th houses and 7th lord and 2nd lords indicated loss and chances of recovery as remote.

4. The combinations indicate that article is not misplaced or lost but stolen. Chor-graha is the strongest of the grahas posited in the kendras and 11H (if 10th house contains malefic) and 7L. Here Shukra is strongest being in exaltation and also 6th lord, is a definite candidate for chor-graha. 7L Budha is also relevant and is always important even if not the strongest of the above grahas. Parivartana between Lagnesh Guru and 6th lord Shukra indicate some confusion or give and take with the querrant which also may indicate that native has given someone but not taken back and the person who took the article doesn't intend to give back (my intuition).

5. 7L being in Vrisabha rasi may indicate that there is some accomplice in the crime although he himself is not the thief.

6. Dhanus being a night-strong rasi the theft may have happened at night or after sun-down. The 7L is with a malefic and aspected by Shani and Lagnesha can indicated a public place or due to a guest.

7. Some information like gender, character/personality, ornaments etc. can be had from the Rising Drekkana about the perpetrator. The second drekkana of the Dhanus rasi is rising. This can indicate: female, ornaments made of sea-shells, teacher and well-versed in scriptures, 'soumya'-looking, medium stature, not beautiful but very desirable and capable of drawing attention, visits pilgrimages etc. However, it should be noted that the description is applicable in case of strong rising prasna lagna. Otherwise the grahas in 7H or strongest graha in kendra can indicate the theif. Here these are Mangal (young, cruel nature, generous, attractive, slender)and Shukra (very beautiful, eyes/hair, jovial personality). Chora-graha also indicates the type of clothing of the perpetrator - Shukra indicates bright/colorful/good material quality clothes where as Budha indicates green, unwashed clothes. Further, chora-graha or 7L lord's placement may indicate the relationships etc. Budha is 7L and important here- being in the 6th house can indicate outsider and enmity. Shukra is other chora-graha and in the 4th in parivartana with lagnesh can indicate that you have left the articles at mother's palce or mother took articles etc. 4th house rasi being a watery sign this could also be a place near water.

8. The article went in the South-eastern direction ruled by Shukra the strongest kendra-graha. The lagna is a dwisabhaba rasi and Arudha lagna is in a sthira rasi indicating that the article may be in or around (within 13 Km radius).

9. Now let us see where the stolen article is kept.

(a) Rising sign and grahas aspecting, indicate that. Lagna is Dhanus and the this indicated amongst other things 'capital of the country' (!), battle field, place of activity, king's court. etc. Mangal indicates kitchen, workshop (e.g. blacksmith) etc. Shukra indicates bedroom, garden, pond, places where incenses/flowers are kept etc.

(b) Chandra is aspected by Guru (kept on a rasied or higher place) and Shani (kept in open place).

© Second drekkana is rising so middle portion of the house is possible.

(d) Planet in the 4H is Shukra and hence bedroom and 4H is lorded by Guru hence place of worship or garden are possible.

10. A dual beneficial sign in the Lagna, Lagnesh Guru in strength in the 11th house aspecting the 9th and 5th (trines) by graha/rasi drishti shows that there is possibility of recovery. Retrograde lagnesh indicates strong desire to recover the atricles due to value or attachment. Further Subhapati is Shani and aspects it and so is Guru a strong benefic.

11. 7L being combust (4 deg away from Surya) indicates possibilty that theif is apprehended.

O.K. I close here. I hope that you recover your note-books and share the knowledge with eager students like us. In case this analysis helps kindly give a small donation in the name of Parama Guru-ji and mine in a local temple so as you relieve you of any karmic debt accrued. Please forgive any typos (too sleepy).

Best wishes,

Sourav
