The Ascendant lord is afflicted by Rahu in VI. The Ascendant sub-lord is Saturn significator of II one of the Maraka sthanas. Saturn aspects cusp VI being lord of VIII and IX. Saturn is in the constellation of Moon that is lord of II. The II cusp is raptly conjoined with Mars(Retro) the lord of VI. Mars is also lord of XI for cure by surgery. The VII (Badhaka) lord Jupiter is in VIII. Jupiter is again in the constellation of Mars lord of VI. It comes to mind when the Ascendant as well as its lord are afflicted by nodes the health and life of the native is endangered. The sub-lord of Ascendant Saturn being lord of VIII and significator of II aspecting VI endangers life with a disease. Saturn being the dasa lord at the time of birth the fatal condition could be present from birth i.e. it is a congenital condition. To fine tune, the Prana lord is examined. The lord is none else than the node Kethu that afflicts the Ascendant.Kethu, conjoined with the Ascendant is agent of Jupiter the lord of VII (Badhaka) occupying VIII. Kethu has the agency of Mercury occupant of VI. So the condition being present from birth is ascertained. The condition appears to be fatal since the maraka and badhaka sthana VII along with VIII and VI are signified. Bhukti lord Mercury is in the constellation of Sun occupant of VI. Mercury is in the sub of Moon lord of II. Again bhukti lord is associated with VI and II. Since VI is strongly signified by the period lords the house is extremely important to be considered. VI cusp falls in Scorpio. Libra is considered to signify the organs of regeneration and urinary tract; and Sagittarius to signify the hip area; Scorpio signifies the area in between. This intermediate part of the body could be the anus, rectum and the perineum. The most common congenital condition of anus and rectum is non-development/mal-development of anus and rectum. So the disease could be congenital absence of anus and some part of rectum. The baby undergoes surgery. The condition may prolong for some time. There are no indications of cure although Mars shows some relief for some time. Selection of part of body is definitely a difficult task. The confusion arises whether to consider Scorpio as VI cusp falls there or to select Cancer as the lord of VI occupies it. Confusion also arises whether to consider the sign occupied by the occupants of VI i.e. Mercury, Sun and Venus. They occupy Sagittarius. One may call it an ‘intuition” that whispered to select Scorpio. Of course VI is signified by many of the significators.
