An initial study on the Progressed Dasa Chart

Dear Friends,

 

1. An initial study on the Progressed Dasa Chart has been done as

given under.

 

2. However, Rahu and Ketu are found not exactly opposite, for

instance in the " Progressed Dasa Chart 1. b " below Rahu is at Pi

20:16:15 and Ketu at Vi 11:48:13. the progressed time. This is due to

the way of calculation that the progressed position of each

planet/cusp is based on its initial star lord and the vimshottari

period of that lord. This has nothing to do with the calendar date

and time. Since rahu and Ketu are in different stars initially, their

movement is different.

Dear Ramani ji,

 

1. Comparison of 4 progressed dasa charts by KPAstro 3.0 and AstroWonder

 

1) KPAstro 3.0 uses New KPA (2003) 22:48:06 and AstroWonder uses

Ayanamsa of 22:52:49 wich is higher by 4min:43 sec.

2) Planetary and cuspal positions are generally in line with a

significant difference in 27-05-1954 progressed dasa chart, i.e. Aq

Asc 04:54:50 by KPAstro 3.0 and 04:41:50 by AstroWonder, giving the

different sublord of the Asc.

3) KPAstro 3.0 progressed dasa calculation is based on an article of

K. M. Subramaniam and AstroWonder is based on V. Mohan. The idea is

generally supposed to be the same as they presented a joint paper

" Implications of KP Revealed through Progression under Vimshothari

Dasa System " in K.P. & Astrology Year Book 1999, page 6-12.

 

2. Using the dasa period of the Natal chart in analyzing by the

significators of Progressed chart is confirmed. In the Progressed

charts by KPAstro 3.0, 1-year Vimshottari dasa is shown and in

AstroWonder the dasa period of the Natal chart is repeatedly shown.

 

3. Rahu and Ketu not being opposite in the Progressed charts is hard

to chew and still early to conclude the usefulness of such Progressed

dasa charts.

 

4. I need some more time to digest the progress dasa widely applied by

Kousalya Sattainathan, claiming as her own calculation method, in her

book " KP's Astrology and Prime Ministers " .

After examining Kausalya Santhanam's method, I request you to give your own opinion about the method to be adopted, what are the points to be taken into account

in analysis. In Varshaphal method, the chart is prepared based on Sun' s long. exact as it appeared in Natal chart for

the particular year (age) to read the prediction for the whole year (during that year). Like this can we know important events thro' the P.Chart for any future years?
